Introduction – Making Money from Your Smartphone

Who wouldn’t like the idea? “Just lay down on your sofa and make money scrolling your smartphone.”

At least I find it interesting but on the other hand it sounds a bit too good to be true.

However, after researching around 500 different make money online opportunities, I have found out that sometimes there are opportunities available that I would have never thought possible.

I never thought that I could make my living online while traveling around the world. But that became a reality.

I never thought that I could have made $50,000 in 2 months with cryptocurrencies like I did in 2017. But that was also possible.

So, who knows if PCH Lotto would be another great opportunity? Let’s take a closer look!

What Is PCH Lotto?

PCH Lotto is a money-making mobile application that has been downloaded over 1,000,000 times on Google Play Store and reviewed +40,000 times.

If you are wondering what PCH stands for, it means Publishers Clearing House. It’s a company that has been around already for +65 years.

At first, they focused on magazines but since then they have evolved to providing all kinds of money games like their PCH Lotto application.

So, how can you actually make money with PCH Lotto? Let’s have a look in the next chapter!

How Does PCH Lotto Work?

There are at least 3 kinds of lotteries within the PCH Lotto application. Let’s go through them one by one.

  • Scratchers

There are a few different kinds of scratcher games but the main idea is to “scratch” the numbers and see if you hit the jackpot.

Your goal is, for example, to get the same number in a row in a 3×3 square. I guess you’ve also seen that kind of scratchers in your local kiosk, right?

These scratchers have been around for ages and it has been a typical way for people to “waste” a few dollars while they are shopping for something else. PCH Lotto provides them for free but there is a little catch that I will explain further.

The biggest jackpots in scratcher games are all the way up to $5,000.

PCH Lotto scratches is one of the 3 ways to make money with the app.

  • Power Match

In Power Match you choose any 8 numbers. Then you hope that they will be drawn in the lottery.

This is a classical drawing style lottery where you pick your numbers and see if your numbers will win the jackpot.

If you get all the 8 numbers right, you will win an instant $10,000 in cash. Well, at least that’s what they promise to you…

If you don’t get all the 8 numbers right but 7, 6, 5 or at least some of them, you still have a chance for the smaller prizes like $500, $100 and so on.

  • The Jackpot

If you get all the 8 numbers right and also the “power number”, you will win their huge jackpot that’s worth up to $2,500,000.

It’s insane how they can provide so huge jackpot but the catch is that it’s so unlikely to win it that they can provide it.

I don’t know if anyone has yet won their $2,5M jackpot but I know that your chances to be struck by a lightning are much bigger than winning this jackpot.

How Much Can You Earn with PCH Lotto?

As I showed above, their Mega jackpot is $2,500,000 and then they have those smaller prices.

The biggest prize for a Power Match game is worth $10,000 and then the smaller ones are $500, $100, etc.

You will also win their “tokens” by playing the games that I laid out above. You can afterwards use the tokens for their other raffles that can reward you with real money.

Even though the jackpots $2,500,000, $10,000, $500 and $100 sound interesting, most likely you will not make much money with the app. I don’t want to be a pessimist here but the odds are against you in the lottery.

Of course, the more you play, the bigger chances you have for winning. But it also means that you have spent even more time playing their games.

What Is the Catch? How Can They Give Money Away?

You may be wondering that how does PCH Lotto have an opportunity to share money away for completely free.

How can they just create an application and give free money to you?

Well, there’s a little catch.

You may have heard the phrase, “If the product is free, then you are the product.” What does that mean? It means that when they are providing their services for free, you are actually their product that they are going to bombard with advertisements.

The app has tons of advertisements to distract players and spend money on them. Over the time course, many players will end up spending time and money on their advertisements..

Another catch is that even though they provide those huge jackpots, it’s very unlikely to win them. Even winning their $100 jackpot is extremely unlikely.

However, if you are using real ways to earn money online, you can make $100 every single day as a passive income (meaning that you don’t even need to work actively to earn it).

Is PCH Lotto a Scam?

Based on our researches, PCH Lotto is not a scam.

The average rating of PCH Lotto on Google Play Store is 4,4 stars out of 5 which means that many people liked the app. If it would be a scam, the rating would be much lower.

You will always some people saying, “Scam, Scam, Scam” no matter what you are selling or providing online. Usually, those people are looking for get-rich-quick schemes and if they didn’t become rich right away in 3 days, they call it a scam.

Some people call Walmart, Amazon, Wealthy Affiliate and all the other great companies maybe because they didn’t receive something as they’ve expected.

However, that doesn’t change the fact that those companies would be 100% reliable. Those reviews tell more about the person that published them than the company itself.

That being said, I am not going to recommend PCH Lotto to you anyway. There are still tons of complaints around it. In BBB (Better Business Bureau) alone there are more than 420 complaints of PCH.

PCH Lotto Complaints

Here are the 3 most common complaints about PCH Lotto.

  • Too Many Advertisements

I guess this is the most common complaint of all. PCH Lotto and other similar mobile apps make money by selling advertising space to other companies or recommending other products as an affiliate.

One way to make money for them is also to create their own products and advertise those products inside the app to you.

Everybody knows that ads may be annoying especially when you are trying to do something on your phone. You would like to get things done but then those ads just appear again and again.

Many members reported that the app is not working properly.

  • The App Is Not Working

Many users also reported that the app is not working and it’s collapsing all the time. If this happens, there is not anything you could do about it.

The only thing you can do is to let their support know that the app is all the time collapsing and hope that they’ll fix it.

The company, of course, does their best that the app would work properly but there are sometimes still some technical bugs that make the app collapse.

  • Spam Emails

When you sign up, they ask for your email address.

Afterwards, they’ll send you tons of promotional emails and advertisements. Many users have found these promotions very annoying and call them a spam.

When you register, PCH Lotto doesn’t necessarily tell you how many spam emails they are going to send you but they just send.

A solution for this would be registering with an email that you don’t usually use or blocking their email address.

Is PCH Lotto Worth It?

I have probably reviewed more than 100 make money online apps.

All of them give these similar promises, “Make money with your phone!” “Earn EASY MONEY!” “Make money from your sofa!” etc

Do you know what?

None of them have been worth it.

The earnings from apps like FeaturePoints, Lucktastic, AppNana or any other mobile apps are so small that you’re basically just giving your time for free to the company that has created the app.

My Sincere Advice to You

Did you know that survey and “Get-Paid-To” sites have offered me money for writing positive reviews of their services?

I have always refused.

My aim is to provide you as my reader the best ways how YOU can make money online. It doesn’t matter if the companies offer me money. If the opportunity is not good for you, I am not going to recommend it to you.

That’s why I don’t recommend any low paying sites or opportunities like PCH Lotto to you.

My #1 make money from home recommendation is Wealthy Affiliate because it walks you through how to create a sustainable full-time income online. I’m talking about +$3,000/month instead of just a few dollars like with survey sites.

A great thing with Wealthy Affiliate is that it’s completely beginner-friendly so even somebody who doesn’t have experience of making money online can get started with it.

If you’re interested in other great ways to make money online, I have collected you a list of some good money-making opportunities and tools here.

  1. Hi i have been dealing with PCH lottery for a while now , & they told me i won $1,000,000 , whitch is around £900.000 , but in order for me to get my money they told me because i am in the UK i have to pay a tax fee, i sent the fee on December 22nd , they told me when they went to collect they couldnt because they were told it had been refunded after 3 days , i went to the WU office to find out what was going on to be told the amount was to high , when i spoke to the lady dealing with it & told her what happened she procceded to call be a liar , i have had the money refunded , the ladies name is Danneielle Lam , she is part of the PCH group . To be honest this needs to be stopped before some one else who is not as savvy gets their fingers burned . thank you for reading this .

  2. Of course it is a scam. I entered for the heck of it. Since then I have received about 50 emails telling me I need to do this or I need to do that. They tell you you in a round about way that you better buy something. I am sick of the emails and of course if you miss one that is why you didn’t win. Big time scam. Never again.

  3. Other sites talk about the films of winners being presented their checks. These could be PCH employees who are given a bonus for hoodwinking the public. There’s never anything in newspapers or on Internet about them. I still think it’s fake.

  4. The app is actually what it is, as expected – promising and addicting. But expectation and reality are completely different things. To me it’s nothing more than a game. The only perk I see in those is that you don’t have to buy any scratchers or actual paper tickets! LOL

    1. Treating it as game is a good point of view through this you will not expect too much from it. And, you will not invest so much time and emotion in the mobile app. Do not expect to much so that you will not be disappointed if you lose. Just enjoyed the game and not be stressed over it.

  5. Thanks, Roope for this information. I always been searching for this kind of financial resources but I’m very hesitant because of the many scam sites and app nowadays. I always do my own research before I start investing in this financial opportunities.

Recently I’ve start using mobile application where you can earn bitcoin, the earnings are small but it still not a loss for me because I only investing my free time. I believed there is no easy money that is why I think slow paying mobile application and sites are more reliable than the fast paying ones.

    1. You are completely right that there is no easy money. Websites and apps that promise lots of easy money are scams. However, there are real websites that provide you easy money but it also equals to small amounts of money.

I understand your point that you want to earn some money on your free time. Why wouldn’t you start earning big money on Wealthy Affiliate by investing your free time.

It will require time from your part but your earnings will surely be much greater than from mobile apps.

  6. The description of how PCH Lotto works and how people can use it to make money online without much stress looks very appealing if everything works as it was supposed. Also looking at the application for PCH Lotto being available for mobile phones users in Google play store makes it more interesting as well but the complaints about the glitches in PCH Lotto with the application crashing always and not working is not appealing at all.

      1. It’s functionality differs from country to country where the application is used, that doesn’t so good. Personally, I’m not good with getting bombarded with ads, it annoys me more than anything when using an application.

  7. Hmm, I’m not too sure about it, to be honest. Even with all the reviews on the Google Play Store, I’m sure that it’s not at all like it seems. I refuse to believe that they are giving out free cash even if they are bombarding the users with advertisements. Maybe they are giving out money but I doubt it’s random. I’m sure they have an algorithm that only gives out money when they make a certain amount from the ads.

  8. So it’s not a scam in the conventional sense, but it does prey on its users’ hopes in order to make money off their time while promising them nothing in return. I totally agree with your comparison to survey sites, they use a very similar model. Time is money and you’re wasting it on “methods” like this. I’d wondered about PCH Lotto, but I’d never tried it. I don’t go for the “get rich quick & easy” stuff… like you, I’m a firm believer in consistent effort! Thanks for your insights.

  9. It’s like real lotto then. I remember a time when I got so hooked into lotto. I’d put it so much money into it that I regret doing it over time. I could have invested the money on other means like online marketing. The money you put it daily doesn’t justify the small winnings you have in the long term if there’s any. Like real lotto, I don’t think it’s a good idea to do PCH Lotto.

  10. A lottery will always get you addicted in many instances for nothing. I do not think the opportunity os really great. The chances of winning are minimal since they have to keep people glued there. It might even be programmed to give you a small reward that will make you think you are nearing the jackpot to keep you hooked. Its better to look onto the greener pastures.

    1. Yes, this is so true! Lotto entice people to be interested and to keep them hook. But when you join your losses are more than your win. You win small amounts whereas you lose big amounts. I don’t think you can just win the jackpot. That’s why I don’t like lotto. In the long run it will just make you lose more. The chance of winning is minimal. The same as this app it is hard to win.

    2. Definitely! lotto can be very addicting and addiction in anything is dangerous to anyone. Betting in lotto only gave you a small chance to earn sure money it is only for entertainment. We should do everything in moderation. Addiction in lotto can also lead anyone to suffer financially. Always remember that do not rely purely in luck and hard work is the best option to earn money.

  11. It’s my first time to heard of PCH Lotto application but i often heard of apps that earn extra bucks. I tried feature points but it didn’t work as easy as expected. Only a few apps available to be tested. The risk of installing apps contributes virus/bugs which makes the phone slow.It occupies big storage space.

Plus, i don’t like the idea of getting too much referral. Sometimes, people do bad things while using the referral. Lucky are those who come first to test and reap the benefits of the application than those who comes last. It maybe a waste of time but it’s always nice to try. Big thanks to your work always. Good day.

  12. The game might be really interesting for any one that is quite keen on how to make money via jackpot and other games. However, PCH Lotto might not really be making it quite easy for people to earn easily via the app which is kind of difficult when you are looking for a stable means of income.

      1. …And that makes it a kind of risky investment of time and resources. Even those that are freelancers working for money have a better luck since you are almost sure that any income you make counts for you.

      2. I actually tried looking up the site of PCH Lotto http://www.pch.com and I got a notification that their services are limited to some certain part of the world which Nigeria is among such countries where the application can’t be used. I can remember where you pointed in some of cons of the application stating that it doesn’t work for some people.

  13. I chuckled when you said that people call it scam when they don’t get rich quickly because I hear that a lot working in the Disputes Department when cardholders try to get their money back from some transactions they have willfully joined.

Now I understand how this company earn when their app is for free. I don’t think it’s something that I will be enticed in since I have no luck at all with gambling or raffle. Many people should learn how they operate because they might think it’s hassle free. They need to think twice or they will be wasting their time which could have been spent on some other income generating sites.

    1. This is the reason I blame those that always fail to do a whole lot of research before spending a dime on any form of transactions. Imagining how we work daily to make money via freelancing and compare with those that promise that you’ll make a whole lot by joining their system of lotto, then you’ll see that they have plans to milk people of their income in the long-run.

      1. I think that you got it wrong with how PCH Lotto is working. You are never charged anything for using the application to play. It’s 100% free if the Publisher Clearing House offer is available in your country. The only way they get to generate their money indirectly is with the thousands of ads placed in the application which most times players are influenced to patronize such ads.
