My Story – Why Should You Listen?

I love education and constant learning but I am not a big fan of the college system.

I went to a college and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree (in my country we have a little bit different system but I went to a school that equals the college in the U.S.). After that I got employed immediately in that matched my education.

I am not bitter that I wouldn’t have achieved something or the school treated me badly. I enjoyed going to college. The teachers were friendly and we had a nice class of students. The school was amazing. Still, I wouldn’t go to the college if I could go back in time.

The main reason is that I found out that ANYONE can make BIG money even without a college education. Nowadays I don’t need my degree but I have better job prospects and more freedom than I would have made with my degree. I would have lots of well paid jobs waiting for me but I have decided to become an entrepreneur.

If you’re wondering if I was blessed with wealthy parents and that’s why I can make money online, that’s not the case. I was raised by a (lovely) single mother and we didn’t have much money when I was a kid. The only entrepreneur in my family is my uncle who is a taxi driver.

So, I don’t come from a rich family or anything like that.

You must also acknowledge that I have also knowledge about the college/university system from 10’s of other countries. I have traveled to ~30 countries and I have friends from

  • North America
  • Latin America
  • Brazil
  • Europ
  • Asia
  • Australia
  • and even from Africa.

I’ve discussed about studying in a college/University with my friends from all continents of the world. Not only that…

I have also studied for quite a while how the college system  in the U.S. and I realized how awful the whole system is. In my own country, Finland, I could still recommend college to some people because it’s much better for the students than in the U.S. More on this further.

If I would have my own children, my first advice would be, “Do NOT go to college! I can teach you to make more money online than you could just dream of with a college degree. In addition, you will have a freedom to do it online just with your laptop and an Internet connection.”

I am not saying that you shouldn’t study. I’m all for education. There are just nowadays much better educational resources available than a college. I still study, watch educational videos, go to seminars and read books on a daily basis.

Sometimes I feel that I learn more from a single seminar than a whole college degree.

Why Do People Go To a College?

The main reason why people still go to a college is that their parents and grandparents went there. They are now teaching their kids that it’s the only way to go.

You may have heard a caring parent saying, “You must go to a college so you can get a safe and a secure job.” That’s total nonsense!

Of course, college has some benefits.

  • You get to know some people.
  • You learn a bunch of new skills.
  • You can attend college-related events and parties.
  • You may get a WiFi connection and an access to a library.
  • You get those “magical graduation papers” that are supposed to give you a job.

However, you could have ALL those things even without a college. In today’s world you have better ways to connect with people, learn new skills and make more money than ever before.

College may have been worth it to your grandmother but not for the millenials.

The challenge for most people is that they don’t know about those opportunities.

You are a privileged individual because now I am going to tell you about better opportunities than a college. If you still, end up going to a college, don’t tell me that I didn’t show you better money-making options! 🙂

Marketplace will not eventually pay you a lot because of some graduation paper. You will get paid by the value that you bring to the marketplace. The better skills you have, and the more value you bring, the more you get paid.

One of the most famous life coaches and business philosophers Jim Rohn said,

Alternatives To a College

We are living the 21st century which is truly the era of huge opportunities for anyone. You have better tools to make money than ever before in the history of humankind.

If you own a computer/laptop and you can connect to the Internet, you have a money-making machine in your hands. I’m not kidding.

Internet can teach you much better than any college in the world.

My (cheap $300) laptop and a (slow) Internet connection can make me more money than my college education ever would. The activities that I am doing online are 100% possible for anyone in the world despite your age, country or background.

Marketplace will pay you for bringing value. You never get a job only because of your papers. You get a job or a raise because of your skills. Those skills bring value to a company and to a customer.

Ultra-successful person Scott Adams said that every skill you learn doubles your odds of success. So, the key to making big money is learning new skills.

There are low income skills and high income skills and you must be developing high income skills. Let me give you a few examples:

  • Examples Low Income Skills:
  • Driving a regular car/taxi.
  • Cleaning a house.
  • Washing the dish.
  • Repairing cars.

Those are the skills that you should not be concentrating on if you want to bring a lot of value to the marketplace and make a lot of money. Let’s have a look at a few examples of high income skills.

I am regularly buying new books, courses, resources and attending seminars where I can learn and master more high income skills. The difference compared to a college is that I get the education from people who have already succeeded and for a much cheaper price than a college education.

If you want to take a look at step-by-step training that has taught me to make money online and allowed me to quit my 9-5 job, you can read more about it here

A great thing is that often you don’t even need to invest a single penny because you have an endless sources of information online. You can search for a topic that you want to learn on Google, YouTube and start learning from the best.

If you want to take a step-by-step course, that’s also an option. There are great courses online for teaching any skills you can imagine.

Internet Education

  • Free or pay as much as you want.
  • Learn from the best teachers in the world.
  • Learn from the teachers who have achieved Big things themselves.
  • Get the most up-to-date information.
  • Connect with successful people and learn from them.

College Education

  • Get a loan and pay $10,000-45,000/year
  • Learn from average teachers.
  • Learn from teachers who have been teaching only “theory” for 10’s of years.
  • Go through the curriculum that may or may be up-to-date.
  • Connect with your classmates who are in the same level with yourself.

You Don’t Need a College Degree to Make Big Money

Highest paying work never requires a college education. If you still think that the college degree is required for making big money, take a look at just a few examples of college dropouts:

  • Bill Gates (Net worth $100 billion)
  • Steve Jobs (One of the most successful people of all time)
  • Mark Zuckerberg (Net worth +$60 billion)
  • Larry Elison (Net worth $55 billion)
  • Jan Koum (Net worth $9 billion)
  • Travis Kalanick (Net worth $7 billion)
  • Orji Uzor Kalu (Net worth $330 million)

Now you may be saying, “Well, those are exceptional individuals. It’s not possible for me!” That’s not true. If you are from the Western country, you have much better chances to succeed than, for example, Orji Uzor Kalu who comes from one of the poorest countries in the world.

Take a look at my friend Jerry’s story below.

He is just a 21-year-old young man originally from Taiwan who didn’t go to a college. In September 2018 he made $4,779 and his goal is to become a millionaire by 25. I am 100% sure he will make it if he continues the way he has started.

My 21-year-old friend Jerry makes +$4,700 online without any college degree or connections.

Should You Drop Out Immediately?

Dropping out or not going to the college is not the best decision for everyone. In my opinion, it would be the best choice for most people but not for everyone.Going to a college is relatively easy. You show up, the teachers teach you whatever they’ve prepared and take you “by the hand” to your graduation. You just need to go with the flow and do what the majority is doing.

I think that the college may be the best for people who just don’t have enough discipline and willingness to work on themselves. Going to a college is a much better choice than laying on the sofa and being lazy. But if you are reading this article this far, I believe that you’re not that lazy and you enough discipline to follow simple instructions to make money online.Making money online or becoming an entrepreneur is not a rocket science. In a nutshell, you need to study the principles what other successful people have done and do the same. If you can do it even a bit better than they did, then you may become ultra successful.

What Happens After The Graduation?

There was a study done recently that revealed that 50% of the college graduates in the U.S. end up being unemployed. So, you have a 50/50 chance to get a job after spending up to $150,000 in your college degree.

Many of those college graduates that get a job end up working in a place that doesn’t match their college education in any way. I bet you have seen people with a Bachelor’s or even with a Master’s degree working at your local supermarket, gas station or in McDonald’s.

McDonald’s is one of the biggest employers of the college graduates.

I was among the “lucky ones” who got employed immediately after the graduation. Actually, there were lots of work places where I could have gone. I’ve always been a diligent student and a worker. Companies are competing of this kind of employees.

Anyway, soon after the graduation, I went to Austria to work in a job that didn’t match my education because it seemed much more interesting that what I had studied. After working there for 7 months I quit the job and concentrated full-time on making money online.

My story is typical in a way that most college graduates eventually end up doing something else than what they have studied in a college. Many people may even get another degree.

At the moment, I don’t need my college graduation papers anywhere. I am an online entrepreneur and I have much more freedom than I could just dream of in a 9-5 job.

If you would use the college time and money on developing your skills and doing the things that you really love to do, you will most likely earn much more money after 3-5 years and live a much better life.

U.S. College Is The WORST In The World

I am from a Scandinavian country called Finland. Finnish educational system is often ranked being #1 in the whole world. You may have seen in the media often that the Finnish educational system beats the U.S. system 6-0.

If you are from the U.S., you may have a better knowledge of the college in your country than I have. But I know a few facts for sure.

  • In Finland (and in the other Scandinavians countries) the college is FREE for students. The government actually PAYS you for studying. You don’t need to take any debt unless you want. And that debt is pretty much interest-free. Some people in Finland take a student debt and invest it directly to the stock market where it makes them more money.
  • In the U.S. Every third college graduate ends up with more than $100,000 debt when they leave the school.
  • Yearly fees can add up to +$45,000/year in some U.S. colleges.

United States has the biggest student loan debt in the world.

The U.S. college is an extremely expensive system. Even in cheaper schools cost +$10,000/year for students who want to study and live nearby the campus.

Is The U.S. College A Biggest Scam In The History?

Do you already know a successful entrepreneur and a thought leader Patrick Bet David? He’s an ultra-successful man with a high net worth of +$10,000,000’s and he’s employing 1,000’s of people.

Patrick went to a college, reads daily and loves education like I do. But he has noticed how the college system in the U.S. is literally scamming people. It’s ripping people off because the people who are in power are benefiting from the system.

Take a look at his research results in the video below (The video is on his highly popular YouTube channel Valuetainment):

What did you like Patrick’s video? Let me know in the comments below this article and I’ll be happy to discuss with you!

Conclusion – Is College Worth It?

In 90% of the cases college is not the best option. College is, in my opinion, mainly for lazy, undisciplined individuals and for those who must have a degree to be able to work legally in their dream profession.

I am not saying that college would be absolutely a bad or a negative thing. That’s not the case. I love education and by going to a college, you will probably learn lots of new things.

However, you can in most cases learn much more, earn more and use your time in a more productive way if you wouldn’t go to a college.

In 3-5 years you can make money online, travel around the world and live the lifestyle you want meanwhile those who went to a college end up in a debt and are struggling to pay back their student debts.

I help people daily to make more money online and I would be more than happy to help you as well. It’s a pleasure to help smart people like you.

  1. I completely agree. I feel in my case going to college was a waste of time and money. I have BA degree and I never made practical use of carrier in that field. I had plenty of jobs since yet ALL of them were not connected to original degree. Which makes you wonder what was that all for in a first place?? unless you know you want to become a lawyer, doctor, scientist, engineer or teacher in specific field…. then there is no point of attending college. It absolutely gave me no help in opening any job opportunities. I still had to start from entry level wherever I worked at. And you are right, nowadays there is so many amazing courses available online that it looks like it all boils down to the fact of choosing wisely the course and direction or passion you have for a subject you want to follow.
