Is Survey Junkie Legit Or a Scam? – August 2018 Update
Survey Junkie is not a scam but the earning potential on their website is very small.
The company contacted me and offered me money for writing a sponsored review on their services but I refused because I don’t promote websites that don’t pay well for you and other people in my audience.

Survey Junkie promises to pay for your opinion. “Just answer a few questions to earn money.” Sounds like an easy money, right?
I have experience of more than 70 survey sites and my experience says that easy money = very little money. However, I decided to look Survey Junkie with open eyes if it would be a better opportunity. Is Survey Junkie Legit Or a Scam? Do they pay you enough?
Give me 1-2 minutes and I’ll answer to all of your questions in my unbiased Survey Junkie Review. I am not affiliated with their service so I’m not earning anything from Survey Junkie by writing this review. I just want to inform you whether their system is good or not.

Short Review: Survey Junkie is a legitimate survey site. However, their rewards are so small that it’s not worth the time to fill out their surveys. In my opinion, it’s just a typical site where you can earn maximum $1-3 per hour.
If you are looking for much better ways to earn money online, I recommend taking a closer look at My #1 Recommendation. Their training taught me to make money online and nowadays I’m a full-time online marketer. If I can do it, you can do it as well.
What Is Survey Junkie and How Does It Work?
Survey Junkie is one of the hundreds of other survey sites that pay you for answering questions regarding different kind of brands. Companies need information from customers because they use that feedback for improving their products. Let’s say for example that Coca-Cola pays Survey Junkie for getting information and Survey Junkie pays you. (I don’t know if Survey Junkie is affiliated with Coca-Cola but that was just an example of a company.)
Survey Junkie also connects you with other survey sites. They have links to other providers where you can earn some money by answering questions and polls. However, the reward of this kind of sites is so small that I don’t recommend them. I have experience of more than 70 different survey sites but I’m not using any of them anymore. I found a much better opportunity to make money online. Click the following picture to read more:
How to Make Money with Survey Junkie?
Making money from Survey Junkie is pretty simple even though the reward isn’t so big.. Let’s go through the process step by step.
1) Sign up
Fill out your personal information like address, age, etc. You can also sign up using your Facebook or Google+ account which can make the process easier. You get 25 points for filling out your personal information.
2) Fill out surveys
That’s simple and anyone can do it. They will ask you questions regarding different brands and companies. Question – answer, question – answer, question – answer. It’s not a rocket science.
Most surveys take 5-30 minutes depending on how fast Internet connection you have, how long is the survey and how fast you can answer. Subjects vary a lot.
3) Cash out
When you have collected enough points, you are ready to cash out. 1,000 Survey Junkie points equal to $10 (which is their cash out minimum limit). They are using this classical trick of giving points instead of cash or gift cards right away. It feels much more exciting to earn thousands of points than a few dollars. It feels that you would be earning a lot even though in reality you earn only a little money.
How Much Money Can You Earn?
You’ll earn 25-200 points per survey. However, 200p surveys are very rare and most of them award you only less than $1. Here are some examples of your earning potential on their surveys:
- 100 points (=$1), 25 minutes
- 28 points, 9 minutes
- 35 points, 14 minutes
- 50 points, 10 minutes
A great thing with Survey Junkie is that they say you in advance how long the survey will approximately take and how much you will earn. All survey sites don’t tell it.
Anyhow, we can see that your earning potential is even much lower than a minimum salary. The best-paying survey of this four option is 50 points using 10 minutes of your time. It would make your salary $3 per hour but in reality, it’s too optimistic estimation.
You will get disqualified from many surveys which mean that you don’t earn points even though you are answering their questions. Another reason is that $3 per hour is only a maximum what you could earn. Average earnings will probably be something like $1 per hour or even less. If you would like to earn a better money online, just follow this step-by-step training.
Survey Junkie Reviews – “Too Little Rewards” and “No Privacy”
Survey Junkie has received thousands of reviews during the years. Some of them are positive and some of them are negative. It seems that those people who are giving positive reviews for Survey Junkie don’t know about better ways to make money online. They are satisfied with $1 per hour (or less) salary.
However, I don’t want to work for $1 per hour and many other people don’t want either. That’s why they are giving negative reviews of Survey Junkie. Let me show one example from a member who filled out their surveys for two weeks and earned less than $4.
Jude’s story is very typical. I have talked probably with hundreds of other people about online surveys and I keep on hearing that story over and over again. People tried them for a while. Earned some money and cashed out but didn’t continue because rewards were too small.
It seems that there are only two kinds of people who recommend survey sites:
- Those who don’t know about better ways to earn money online.
- Those who want to earn money from their referrals. (=They recommend the service for their audience. When somebody joins, the one who recommended earns the commission.)
I have made a principle that I recommend only services that I could use myself. I want to make a positive impact on my readers and improve their quality of life. That’s why I don’t recommend surveys for you.
Conclusion – Is Survey Junkie Legit Or a Scam?
Survey Junkie is a legitimate company and they pay their members. However, the rewards are so small that I don’t recommend wasting your precious time filling out their surveys. I can show you a million ways to earn money online more easily.
Here are three great options that are much better than Survey Junkie:
1.Wealthy Affiliate. The training that taught me to make money online. I earn money while I’m sleeping, talking with friends, having a coffee or laying on the beach. I just visited my friend before writing this article. During that visit, I had earned money on the Internet.
2.Chris Farrell. This Englishman has lots of useful tips and I’ve learned many good ideas from his teachings. I know many people who have earned a life-changing income with his teachings.
3.Fiverr. One of the biggest freelancer marketplaces on the Internet. In my opinion, Fiverr is underrated. Many people make a living using Fiverr and I have used it for outsourcing lots of different things regarding my online business. I have also used Fiverr for earning some extra money sometimes. Nowadays I don’t use it anymore because I prefer earning passive income online.

I gave up on survey sites long ago. The promises are always ernomous with limited actual rewards.

To be honest, captcha sites are a complete waste of time. The payout is even smaller than with survey sites. I don’t see any good reason why anyone should spend time on those sites.

Survey Junkie as well as other surveying sites doesn’t really pay that much. Rather than fully investing yourself in this type of job, you could find more out there that is more suited for you and would give you a lot of rewards compared to survey sites.
I would say that you can do these jobs as a side job rather than making it your main source of online income, because if you do so you would see yourself with such a little progress as time passes by. Doing surveys on your free time might work, but remember to have a main source of income.

I see Survey Junkie the way that I view most of the survey sites that we have scattered all over the internet which are sites that don’t pay enough for the good works done by the people that register on them. The honest truth is that it is better to use it as a side hustle and not for trying to make serious income on the internet.

Just this month, I started to research on how to earn extra money online because I’m still on a vacation and I think I’ve wasted enough time not doing anything else. I’ve tried some legit surveys and they gave me points just like any other survey sites but those surveys don’t easily come around. Yes, I definitely do have suggestions on how to earn money as a college student like you. When I was a college student, I started looking for the ways to make money online as well.
I came across Wealthy Affiliate and it has literally changed the course of my life.
At the moment I don’t do anything with my college degree because I am able to earn money online wherever I am in the world, thanks to Wealthy Affiliate.
Therefore, my #1 recommendation is Wealthy Affiliate. It may happen that you’ll earn 10x more money through their training than with your college degree 😉
As a millenial going through the struggles of adulting, I was so aggressive in trying online jobs that promises less effort but good pay routine. Doing surveys was one of the jobs I took without hesitation because of its hassle-free functionality but unfortunately I had multiple setbacks due to survey apps broken promises. Hoax apps, viruses, hacking and phone/computer lagging are my daily dilemma in trying out risk doing online surveys.
In the different apps and websites I tried only few really did stay true to their promise of payment after the job is completed. I do not earn a lot but still, I somewhat earn somethings with minimal effort that millenials like to do.
I just have a minor issue I would like to address, how can you know you are being paid fairly with each surveys you do? I do not have any idea about the proper rate of doing surveys and due to this, I still feel a little lost how the trade and survey business should be. Please enlighten me!
I have tried/researched/analyzed +100 online survey sites. In total, I have published reviews on +400 make money online opportunities on this website.
My conclusion is that don’t waste your time on survey sites. There are wayyy much better opportunities to earn money online. I am also a millenial like you are.
There are a few challenges with surveys:
1.The problems that you already specified in your comment.
2.They pay much less than other opportunities.
3.Sometimes they don’t pay what they’ve promised.

I agree survey sites usually don’t pay a lot. I forget the name of one I used to be a member of as I think it no longer exists, but it would still pay you even if you disqualified but many do not. I still am on some but mainly because I’m interested in product testing and some programs invite people through survey sites rather than opening up registration at some point through the year.
I don’t do them as often anymore because I have found better opportunities. And honestly most people I find that do survey sites a lot, only join the ones with somewhat decent referral opportunities. I recently got invited to join one and I’m 99% certain the referrer doesn’t do surveys and only made what she made referring people.
Yeah, that’s how big earners on these sites make the money, by promoting the site to other people.

I’ve found that there are few survey sites that don’t reject you simply because you don’t “qualify. Aren’t most of these sites marketed towards middle aged women because they are the most likely to buy things from these sites?
Do you think middle aged women have the best chance to make money off of these sites? There is definitely a demographic that is the main focus on those sites. I think it has something to do with how much money you make and how gullible your demographic proves to be.

Hmm… I haven’t heard before that survey sites are mainly marketed to the middle-aged women. I don’t have data about it so I can’t say whether it’s accurate or not.
Anyway, I wouldn’t recommend survey sites for middle-aged women as I don’t recommend them to any other age groups.
People could earn way more money online by using better websites like Wealthy Affiliate.

From my personal experience, I have signed up to so many websites for paid surveys but I have not been invited to a survey, not even once!
The problem with these websites is that they’re not universal. For surveys, you have to be from the US or Canada, for you to be able to generate a decent income from surveys.
Even if I were to be invited to a survey by them, their paying rates are very low.
I don’t believe it’s worth the time and the effort. There are better ways where you can make more than that.

You are right that many survey sites are only available in US, Canada, UK, Australia and maybe other few countries. In these countries is certainly not worth it to use them. There are so many better ways to make money online.
Also, paid surveys are often unavailable for other countries. The sad thing about these surveys is that it’s not universally for everyone as majority of high paying surveys prioritize people who live in the west. However, I would like to give this one a credit as surveys like this are really beneficial for students or part-timers. But as the article has suggested, there are a lot of ways to earn which is better than taking these time-consuming questionnaires.
I agree that you can earn some money from surveys but I would say that even though you are a student, you should not spend your time on them because you have many websites that would pay you 5-10 times more than survey sites. But yeah, it is your choice of course 🙂

I actually experienced that with these before because people are naturally attracted to the concept of “easy money” that we forget the veracity of it. I advise that these method of earning money should be taken with a grain of salt.
Yeah, easy money does not usually exist. It is possible to make a huge income online but it requires some effort and learning new skills.
Despite the fact that Survey Junkie seems one of the best survey sites which we’ve got out there, the earning potentials ain’t something that I am going to take up to work on. I mean that earning like $1-$3 per hour is not something that is going to make one earn so much in a matter on months and this is one reason why I might decide not to give the site a try at all.

Yes, PrizeRebel is a bit better but I don’t personally use any of these survey sites. The rewards are just so low.
Exactly, I thought as much because where I read the review on PrizeRebel, I was certain that what it pays was higher compared to what Survey Junkie is paying. I did tried trying to earn from PrizeRebel then but could not register because it’s services wasn’t supported in Nigeria. But after getting to realize that working on survey sites isn’t worth it because of the low pay, I dropped all interest in any kind of survey sites.

Yes, I’m equally glad to have come to the realization that it’s not worth it stressing myself over earning peanuts from survey sites. Instead of wasting my time on such, I would rather rest with such time and get more energy to focus on other online jobs that are worth it.
This is the same here as I don’t have any more interest in working on any survey sites as that is something that can’t work really well for me. I will say that getting to use other better opportunities such as Wealthy Affiliate marketing since it is going to make you earn money even while you sleep!

You’re right. Paid survey sites all have the same principle. Too little money for too much time spent. So they’re definitely not worth the while. And any survey sites that promise beyond the single-denomination mark ($1-$9) is questionable, depending on how much time you’d need to spend to reach that point.
That being said, paid survey sites are also a waste of bandwidth. So whether they’re legit or not, they’re simply not worth the time, effort and bandwidth to pass for a “decent” job that could actually make a living.

Thanks for reviewing survey junkie. But apparently, like any other survey sites, survey junkie also has it’s own advantage and disadvantages when it comes to making money online. It may not be the best for others but it’s worth trying specially for those who are just starting out and trying to make their first money online. Making some pocket money is better than just killing time doing nothing.

I can definitely agree with you! You guys don’t know how these surveys can help a student survive in their college. Personally, I have experienced the pleasure of earning offline and online to support my college fees and luxuries at the same time. This allowed me to save money for future expenses.
But as what Fern said, the disadvantage of this kind of money making is the time consumed per survey answered. Nevertheless, if you are looking for other ways to easily earn a couple bucks then paid surveys are your answer!

I have never been a part of any online survey. When I heard about money making opportunities by participating in online survey, I was very interested. I joined few survey sites and completed the basic questionnaire.
When I was waiting for the survey to unfold, I received a notification “survey is not available in your location.” Every time I tried to join a survey site, I received the same notification. Surveys are not available in my location. Thankfully, I don’t have to deal with underpaying tasks.
Yeah, that’s a typical message. If your location is fine, they may still send you a message after you have answered a few questions saying, “Unfortunately you weren’t qualified for this survey. Better luck next time!”
I have tried tens of survey sites but none of them are really worth it. So it’s actually good that you can’t even qualify for them like you said 😉

Personally, I’ve never used Survey Junkie. Though I was aware that they are a legit paying survey company that has been around for a while. The problem for me when it comes to surveys are finding ones that specifically tailor to my geographic location. Because of this, I normally don’t qualify for most surveys on survey websites.
The only real success I’ve had with surveys is from the website Mobrog. That company was actually the first dollar I ever earned from completing work online. Shortly after, however, I realized it was best to invest my time in a more quality passive income like internet marketing in general.
Actually, I wrote a review of Mobrog because some other visitor also mentioned that site. I realized that earning potential with that site is as low as with most other survey sites. => Not worth it.

Unfortunately, the site is not available for my country so I can’t test it out for myself, but I am glad I got to read your review for it anyway since I do have a lot of friends in the US and we often exchange recommendations for earning sites we could use.
I think survey sites like this can be really tricky since a lot of them are scams, and thankfully this one is at least not one of them, but you’re right that the pay is just too little for the effort and time to be worth it.
I think survey sites that have proven to succeed need to strike a good balance of giving enough rewards to users while still remaining profitable.

I must disagree with you that any survey site would pay enough. I have experience of more than 7o survey sites and none of them is worth it. In addition, I know many successful online entrepreneurs and none of them uses online survey sites regularly.
I know that some online marketers recommend them but that’s only because they want to earn money from their referrals or they just don’t know better ways to earn money online.

I don’t really recommend online surveys or get-paid-to sites for my friends or on my website even though I could earn money by doing so. In my opinion, they are just not worth it because your time is valuable.
But if you really want to try out something, you can have a look at PrizeRebel. They’ll pay you honestly and it’s one of the biggest get-paid-to sites on the Internet.

I am new with online surveys and i still learning how it works and survey junkies have found in a search engine when searching for a legit online paid survey but I’m not sure about it that’s why i am looking to any all reviews before trying to sign up on this line of earnings.
Yes absolutely online survey is just only for those have an extra time and they don’t want to be bored so rather than go out and spend money outside i think better do an online survey or online job.

you are lucky because you haven’t yet spent time on online surveys. I highly recommend that you won’t because they are mainly just time-wasters. You can earn a buck or two but your time is spent much better by doing more profitable activities.
In addition, there are tons of better ways to make money online. One of them is Wealthy Affiliate and if you like freelancer jobs then there are OneHourTranslation, Fiverr or many others.
I have tried many times to gain revenue or rewards from survey sites, but I find that they are a colossal waste of time, in my experience, and they rarely ever pay off based upon the amount of effort you have to put in.

Time is money. Why wouldn’t I do something through Wealthy Affiliate that’s much more interesting and makes me 10-50 times more money than online surveys? 🙂 That’s why I also recommend WA for my visitors rather than filling out surveys.
Nice review about not just Survey Junkie, but the information seems that it can be applied to online survey sites in general. I’ve tried a few different online survey sites this past month and I’ve come to the same conclusion you mentioned. The sites are fine if you want to make just a few pennies to $1 an hour.
They do actually pay once you reach the required amount to withdraw. However, it is so slow to earn any money with them and especially frustrating when you spend time beginning a survey, only to find you don’t actually qualify and have earned nothing for your time.
Ultimately, I’d say the survey sites are only good if you truly enjoying sharing your opinion and would rather do online surveys rather than anything else.

In the beginning, of starting my online business I decided that I recommend only services that I could use myself and are really profitable for my audience. I don’t use any survey or “get-paid-to” sites anymore for earning money online. I used them in the past but the reward was so small that it isn’t worth it. I have reviewed more than 70 survey sites so I know what I’m talking about.
You can learn a better way to make money online on Wealthy Affiliate.
But if you really want to earn money by filling out online surveys or completing mini tasks, I recommend choosing one from this article.

yeah, their company has been around for a long time. Survey Junkie is not down but I don’t recommend earning money with online surveys because the reward is so small. Making money with affiliate marketing is much more profitable.
