What is Crowd Rising? – Peer-to-Peer Funding

For starters, Crowd Rising is a new peer-to-peer direct funding company that claims to offer people a way to give to others while also getting paid themselves. Crowd Rising is more like MMM Global — if you haven’t heard of MMM, it’s a scheme where you donate money to someone and receive more in return.

This kind of scheme will only survive as long as new funds and members join the system. The new funds are used to pay existing members, so it’s more like a pyramid scheme. This means that the program is likely to collapse when there are not enough recruits to pay existing members.

Another thing you should know is that the program doesn’t offer any product whatsoever. The site is entirely focused on donating money to others — you can only market the actual membership, and that might not work well for everyone. In fact, Crowd Rising has lots of characteristics of a Ponzi scheme.

How Does Crowd Rising Work?

To join the program, you’ll need to provide them with your name and email address, then finally create a password for your account.

Crowd Rising is pretty straightforward — you can be a perfect candidate if you can send $20 to the bank account of the person who introduced you to the site. The next thing to look at is their compensation plan.

Crowd Rising Compensation Plan

First of all, I would like to show you their sales video. It explains how everything works. However, I warn you that don’t get fooled by their beautiful words. Their only goal is to sell you to program to get your money.

Crowd Rising compensation plan starts with $20. In other words, you’ll need to donate $20 to get into their 5×10 matrix. So, when you gift your upline $20, you’ll automatically open five positions below you which you also have to fill.

Once you’re with that, you’ll still need to gift your upline another $40 to qualify you for the next level. What you should know is that there are up to 10 levels that you need to fill to make the big bucks. For the record, the 10th level requires 9,765,625. Crazy right? I mean, is it even possible to get that much people in your down line?

Let’s face it; it’s not going to be easy to find even one person to join a program that has no products, and they require you to progress to get up to 9,765,625! So, it’s pretty clear that their goal is to have you recruiting, so their program spread like wildfire — it’s more like working hard to keep them afloat. The thing is, you can earn money from the site, but you’ll have to work ridiculously hard to get paid, and the program can cease to function at any time.

The bottom line is, those figures are a bunch of hype. Even your upline knows that it’s almost impossible to get that much people to join the program. I mean, what are you going to tell your downlines? How will you be able to keep convincing as much as over 9,000,000 people? Hilarious!

Crowd Rising Seems Like a Ponzi Scheme

Ponzi scheme is a system where the founder tells that there is some product that will bring you profits but in reality the only way to get profits is if new people join the system. Newcomers pay for those who joined early.

Crowd Rising isn’t exactly a Ponzi scheme because they somehow tell in advance how the system works. Anyhow, it doesn’t make it even better than a Ponzi.

You can imagine the system like this:

Some man is standing in the street and selling you Crowd Rising. He says that you can get involved in his system if you pay him $20. You put your hand in the pocket, grab $20 and give it to this man.

Now you can also start asking people to give you $20. You stand there together with this man asking for people to give you $20. When they ask what they’ll get for that $20, you answer honestly, “You can then join in our system. When you recruit new people, they will pay you $20. When you move up in the ladder, you can earn even millions.”

Your prospect is smart and asks, “What is the actual product?” You scratch your head for a while and answer, “Well, there is no actual product. The only idea is just to recruit new people and get them to pay you more money.”

Probably you have seen other systems in the past. I have seen a few. One of them was TooDamnEasy where some members needed to pay even $100,000 with a hope of earning big money.

Crowd Rising is using this kind of pictures to promote their program.

Conclusion – Is Crowd Rising Worth It?

Definitely not. As you saw in my example, the system is ridiculous. They have built a facade to make it appear more enticing. Don’t let it fool you. I don’t like that they use pictures of African children to promote their scam program. Peace, Love and hope. That kind of words they use in order to fool you. Wow, how do they dare? Probably the love of money has blinded their eyes.

I rather make my living by doing helpful things online. Two years ago I found an opportunity that has helped me to quit my 9 to 5 job and pursue a dream of having a freedom to live anywhere I want and live the famous “laptop lifestyle”. At the moment I am writing this post in the train station. I’ll probably publish it when I’m already in train on my way to Salzburg. And that makes me money!

I can work here in Austria, in my home country Finland, in the airplane, in train, in Asian beach or wherever I want. That gives me a great excitement. In addition, I am not talking about “job” that could only pay me a little money. Some of my best friends are doing the same things and earning +$10,000/month. I have started so recently that I still need to work in order to reach such income level. However, I am sure that I’ll make it when I keep on doing what I’m doing.

I guess that you would also like to learn how you can achieve the same kind of lifestyle as well. What do you think? I didn’t have any skills to make money online when I started the training in Wealthy Affiliate. They had a step-by-step training and support that lead me where I am today. By the way, it’s completely free to get started.

  1. Crowd Rising was not a worthy earning site, but the first thing that I noticed is the logo of Crowd rising, from the color, font and the design of the logo I think it is very similar to the logo of the game ‘SIMS’ I don’t know if this is just me. But I guess some also noticed it.

  2. I heard about Crowd Rising about a year ago. However, when I found the site similar to MLM Global, I decided never to join it. I have lost money MLM Global (I sent $50 worth Bitcoin to a user; before I could ask for my $50 the site shut down).

I will never join any program that resembles Ponzi scheme. I am done with make money easily kind of offers. Thanks for the review.

    1. Hi Vinaya,

yeah, MMM Global was another famous ponzi scheme. Afterwards the same guy started a new ponzi scheme called MMM Returns to rip off even more people. The love of money is a root of all evil says the Bible. I think guys like him love money too much and they start lying to other people.

  3. I’m so happy I came across your review! It’s not only about the money, it’s mainly about spending hours and hours and try to figure out how to make money with it, and then to realize that it was just a waste of time… and lots of it.

Thank you for sharing your detailed opinion 🙂

    1. Hi B,

you are definitely right. That’s what happens with Peanut Labs and other survey sites. I’m happy you got the message 🙂

  4. It is common to see such scam attempts in the internet like that. First they will keep telling people that they earn a lot of money and at most cases not clarifying how. Next, they will be messaging you or telling you to pay them money as some kind of a membership fee. I identify these kinds of scams by just one thing. If it looks good to be true, then it probably isn’t. Thanks for sharing this, Mr. Roope!

    1. Hi Giovanni,

you are right that most offers online that look too good to be true, are usually just scams. I have seen tens and probably hundreds of scams during my online business career and they have some common characteristics so nowadays it’s quite easy to spot a scam.

That being said, there are some awesome opportunities online that almost too good to be true. Some years ago I couldn’t almost believe that some people are making +$10,000/month online just by recommending other people’s products. I have got to know many such people and I want to be part of that “club” as well.

    1. You can read experiences from other people who have been involved in this system. The other way is to invest your own money and see what happens. The first option is more recommended because otherwise you’ll most likely just lose your money.

  5. Thanks for reviewing the site. Hopefully, people see this post before even thinking about joining this site. Any site that offers you millions is guaranteed to be fake, to be honest. I like how they offered a 48 hour free trial which just sounds like a joke to be honest. I wonder how many people have fallen for this site. Unfortunately, too many people are just unaware of these types of sites and will hope to make a lot of money as the site promises.

    1. Hi Kingcool,

yeah, people still fall into online scams. I think the right way to help people from falling into them is education. That’s why I am sharing information about many online scams and explaining how to avoid them.

There are numerous ways to make a living online with completely honest ways. It’s better to concentrate more on those things rather than these “get-rich-quick” systems.

  6. Hi Roope

I am very happy that I came across your site, I was looking for opportunities online to supplement my income and I’ve seen so many stuff online that it’s very hard to trust and know what works and what Not, and to be honest even I was looking into Crowd Rising, again I am glad that I found your site.

Now, I will like to ask, what makes you so sure that WA really works, please give me your advice you sounds pretty sincere young guy, looking forward hear from you

    1. Hi,

what makes me sure that Wealthy Affiliate really works? I see the money rolling into my bank account. Online income is growing each and every month. The more I work, the more I earn.

In addition, hundreds or thousands of other people in WA have been able to quit their 9 to 5 job because they earn even much more online.

WA will not only give you a supplement income but it can fund the rest of your life. It sounds big and it is something big.

      -Roope
