According to the research I did, some people sold their house for the sake of the membership fees, which is rather impulsive.
Most of the dissatisfied customers ranted about the amount of money they have invested and gained nothing in return except “high pressuring force” to get their money back by referring to as many people as they can.
In reality, though investing more is necessary to have a full blast of opportunities, it doesn’t mean you will earn more within a short time.

You see, various travel-related scams wait for its potential victims like you if you weren’t careful enough to study the company as a whole before you invest in any of their services and/or programs they’re offering.
Of course, you can’t entice someone without showing too good to be true offers. So, scammers are left without a choice but to get smarter and more creative than a decade ago.
What most companies do is to use the provoking words like “Discount,” “Special offer,” among others with a percentage displayed on the advertisement or anywhere they think visible for the users. From there, they will show the travel package with attractive offers.
Thinking they’re real, you found out that it wasn’t.
3. Bitcoin Scams
Honestly, there are a lot of misconceptions about cryptocurrency as there are still many people who thought that investing in coins is a scheme. Yet, we all know it’s not, though there are existing scams involved in the industry. We can’t prevent that.
Based on Heimdal Security post, the most common bitcoin scams involve fake Bitcoin exchanges, Ponzi schemes, scam attempts, and malware.
The Bitcoin-related scams are widespread to the extent that the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) had to warn people about the existing issue.
"A number of concerns have been raised regarding the cryptocurrency and ICO markets, including that, as they are currently operating, there is substantially less investor protection than in our traditional securities markets, with correspondingly greater opportunities for fraud and manipulation," the US SEC chairman wrote.

4. Loyalty Points Phishing Scams
Who wouldn’t want to get some loyalty points for discounts, right? The famous option for this kind is Swagbucks in which it aims to provide you surveys to fill in. In return, they will reward you with anything, such as coupons with special discounted items for you.
As much as the opportunity sounds good, there are still others who take advantage and use the system to victimize people.
What they do is use fake coupons or discount codes which is only discoverable when the victims claim them in the designated stores.

5. Job Offer Scams
Since most of the young people nowadays prefer to work at home or build an online business rather than doing the traditional way of earning money, scammers take this as an opportunity to use that youthful spirit for their traps.

The sample of the sites I recommend doesn’t ask for money to show you the entire list of the jobs you apply. Thus, when you encounter a site that asks for payment before you get access to the job list, be wary.
Legitimate sites will only ask for percentage (some sites like Upwork) when you finally get hired. Not before you land into a job. Keep that in mind.

6. Dating Scams
When it comes to dating scams, I remember my godmother, single at 50, was once fond of chatting foreigners during her vacant hours.
Even at work, she keeps checking her messages if her boyfriend has sent her something. Eventually, the man she’s talking to for weeks started to ask her personal information and money.
Even when everyone has warned her about the existing scams, she remained stubborn and spent her money for the man, in fear that he might leave her. She pursued and regretted it afterward. The man was nowhere to be seen and she’s in debt.
As fictional as it sounds, but there are still people who lack the sense of prudence and fall into these traps, which is pretty obvious for many of us.
Which is why, though it’s one of the oldest forms of scams, it remains the top internet fraud scams existing today. They know how to use emotions to hook victims to the scheme.

7. Greeting Card Scams
The scams involved in greeting card scams are those who like to threaten people with infiltrating their hardware with malware like how the “I Love You” virus succeeded in early 2000.
Two Filipino hackers managed to destroy billions of dollars worth of systems around the world because they weren’t aware of how a simple “I Love You” greeting card could create such damage. Yet, it happened.
Hackers tend to send malware and threaten users if they won't send the amount they're asking for.
Now, the amusing thing happened was the non-existent Philippine laws regarding cyberattacks at the time. So, they simply paid the fine and were freemen.
Because of that event, it became one of the most unforgettable cyber phenomenons everyone should be aware of, resulting in the creation of more software strong enough to protect people's hardware and other cyber- and spy-related crimes.
You have to be cautious of whatever email or software that’s sent to your account. Fortunately, Google Mail can detect spam emails today than before. Still, you have to be prudent enough not to allow yourself to become one of their victims.
8. Nigerian Scams
Like the dating scams, Nigerian scams is one of the oldest forms of scams, yet there are still young people fall into the scheme.
Based on the resources I gathered, it started in the early 1990s when the “Nigerian Prince Email” or “419 Fraud” started to attack and lure its first victims.
Business Insider wrote, “The conspiracy has risen in sophistication, netting millions in scam money and minor celebrity status for the Nigerian email schemers who commit the fraud.”
The source added that though the schemers didn’t change a thing of their strategy - sending an email of sympathy, the victim clicks, believes, and sends his or her personal information - the criminals keep on getting a handful of income from their fraudulent acts.
“They’re quiet and methodical,” the same resource mentioned, referring to their simple scheme but dangerous enough to bankrupt someone’s account.

9. Celebrity Impersonation Scams
If you have ever heard of hoax news about a celebrity died, then you are aware this scam exists. If you're also aware of fake news, good.
One of those victims is the founder of Ethereum, a cryptocurrency, who died in a car crash. Consequently, the crypto value plummeted until he debunked the news.
There are many celebrities, including YouTube personalities and influencers, who keep warning their fans about using their names to victimize.
Which is why the SEC continues to make awareness to young people about becoming aware of their surroundings and be cautious enough to dissect the information they receive whether they are facts or not.
Because the scams are everywhere, this YouTuber impersonates herself as one of the eBay customer service to show you how celebrity impersonations work in various ways.
Because this attitude of prudence can make themselves safe from any kind of scam. Especially those who are hardcore fans of someone. If the scammer uses that personality’s name for his benefit, it would be trouble for the person involved.
