Welcome to my CrowdSurf Review!
In the past few days, I have spent more time reviewing a lot of transcription jobs you might want to check out. While I’m on this, I observed a lot of similarities between companies.
They might have different standards and names, yet, the income potential, as well as the nature of the job, remain the same.
It’s no surprise a lot of entry-level workers transfer to another company and/or search for something else.
If you have doubts in joining any transcription team, here on Your Online Revenue we have something to suggest you do.
Check out our #1 recommended online business opportunity and see if this type will work on your money-making journey this year.
Now, we’re all set. Shall we dive into the post? I’m super stoked.

What Is CrowdSurf?
Although you can be mistaken CrowdSurf as an online streaming music company, it’s an Indian-based transcription company, catering to the needs of its clients around the world.

The client uploads the video or audio files on-site for review and has the assigned worker to work on it fast. In turn, you’ll get paid based on the length of the file you worked on and on the grade you got from each project.
In any transcription job, your monthly payment relies on how good you work on each project. The editor will do the review and release the grade based on your performance.
By then, you’ll expect a higher payment if you get higher grades. If not, you will receive the base payment.
How Does CrowdSurf Work?
As I mentioned earlier, any transcription company follows the same pattern from the moment the clients submit their video or audio files ready for transcription to the payment process.
With that being said, it’s easy to understand how you’re going to get into the working team and get involved with the market. From there, CrowdSurf ensures the 3-easy step process for every potential worker to join the company.
The first thing you need to do is to sign up as one of their bonafide transcriptionists with the required information as well as the tax number. You have to have these details to ensure you get into the job.
The second thing you can do is to get into the marketplace where all the potential clients you’ll be working on lurk there.
If you just get into the company, for instance, you’re considered an entry-level transcriptionist. Therefore, you can’t assure these clients would want to work with you. Unless if you possess higher grades from the editors reviewing your work.
The third thing involves the work itself. You have to work with these clients fast without errors, if possible, with the transcriptions.
According to CrowdSurf official website, it will take you around 3 to 5 days before they approve your profile assessment. Once you receive their confirmation, you can start working with the clients as many as you can.
How to Make Money with CrowdSurf?
There are no other available means to make money with CrowdSurf except for working on each project with blood, sweat, and tears. Especially if you just got into the job.
That’s because you rely on the editor’s assessment which serves as the basis for your grades. From your grades, the number of workloads you receive per month relies on it, too.
Therefore, you have to be the best from the beginning and guarantee your clients the fast-done-output without errors.
If you do, transcriptionists working for CrowdSurf most likely receive around $0.10 per 25 audio seconds, excluding bonuses you would receive under your account. Others claim around $0.05 to $0.17 per 25 to 30 audio seconds.
Regardless, you have to keep in mind the nature of the job. Transcription jobs are highly demanding from their workers.
Hence, you have to understand the value of your income and the amount of effort you exerted for the money you receive.
If you have doubts in joining the CrowdSurf team and might want to venture into something else, you can see our #1 recommended online business opportunity here.
CrowdSurf [UGLY] Truths Revealed!
1. Too Low Income Potential
Most workers revealed on the forum about the exact information about the compensation they received while working for CrowdSurf. Some of them stated the company pays out around $0.05 to $0.17 per 20 to 30 seconds of the file.
Below is a screenshot of another compensation structure based on the number of projects you worked and accomplished per week.
2. Difficult To Make Money
Some transcriptionists revealed that CrowdSurf intentionally designed compensation to make it difficult to make more money.

If other companies could pay $0.85 per audio second, the company pays lower than the average income per second. Hence, it’s difficult to make a full-time income from this type of opportunity.
3. Vague Company Information
When I hovered through the official website, there are no other pieces of information about the company. No about page or any other details about the people running the website, in general.
Because of that, some workers mentioned that this factor made them feel a bit doubtful.
“The company is sketchy. There is no contact information for anyone on their website. For all I know it's just an automated program running on someone's computer somewhere,” one dissatisfied worker revealed.
4. No BBB Record
Although they function across the world, CrowdSurf doesn’t have any records on the Better Business Bureau (BBB) which is very important, especially if you welcome workers from the United States. However, there’s none.
What I Like About CrowdSurf?
1. Diverse Compensation
You might not earn more than you expect as a transcriptionist. You still get a diverse compensation rate from the company.
If you see a screenshot from one of the workers’ revelations on the forum, you see the entire basis for the weekly bonuses payable on your account.
2. Lots Of Good Reviews From Workers
On Glassdoor, most of the workers say they like working for CrowdSurf. In fact, there are a few of them who have stayed in the job for years.
That alone is proof the workplace is legitimate as well as the payment. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have said so.
3. Flexible Working Hours
Since this is a work-at-home opportunity, it’s a pretty obvious thing to say that you can work on flexible working hours for CrowdSurf.
You don’t follow the exact time to report on the office or start working on the projects as long as you follow the deadline. That’s all you have to keep in mind.
CrowdSurf Review - What Others Say?
“Treat your workers with respect, especially when you're only paying them 5 cents at a time,” one angry worker ranted on the forum.
Others may want to have shared their side against the company; however, it’s sad to say a lot of transcriptionists find it hard to make a win in doing this job they love doing.
It’s true to all transcription companies, though, based on my reviews in the past few days. The company may seem well at first glance. But when you dig more into it, you’ll see the rotten side of the job.
This isn’t to discourage people to apply for transcription jobs, especially those who are into it. It’s like telling someone with a sweet tooth to stop eating sweets at once. It won’t work like that.
Yet, it’s the reality most transcriptionists face. “Pay isn't very good. [I'm] also having to skip poor audios that take up precious earning time!” another worker mentioned.
On the brighter side, many of them seem satisfied working for CrowdSurf. One of them stated that they liked working for the company, especially if you strive to get higher grades from the evaluators observing your work.
“Just wanted to say I've been doing work for CrowdSurf for 3 years now. I no longer do typed transcriptions as I am now a full-time reviewer and QC manager,” she said.
Is CrowdSurf Legit?
The company may sound sketchy with fewer pieces of information revealed about CrowdSurf; however, many current transcriptionists prove the legitimacy of the jobs and the payments as a whole.
Therefore, there’s no doubt that CrowdSurf is a legitimate company to work with if you want to pursue working as a transcriptionist. Yet, bear in mind that if you can’t stand the low paying jobs for a while, it’s not the right job for you.
Nonetheless, CrowdSurf is real and is not a scam, to begin with. They have diversified compensation rates you might want to check out, including exclusive bonuses only those with higher grades can enjoy.
Hence, you have to work hard if you want to become a high-paid transcriptionist regardless of the company, my friend.
#1 Online Business Opportunity
I experienced working online as a content writer for quite some time now. Like any other online workers, I experience droughts in my work because of the existing high competition between applicants.
The same thing happens with transcription jobs. You can’t expect you’re getting paid more, especially if you just started the job.
It’s not even a dollar you’re earning per second. In general, you’re earning more or less $20 per hour. That’s the average income base.
Now, what if I tell you it’s possible to make $3,000 in a day? Would that sound enticing to you? If it does, let me share a bit of Your Online Revenue Ltd founder and a successful affiliate marketer from Finland, Roope “Robert” Kiuttu.
He’s been blogging since he’s 21 and 4 years later, he’s earning 4-digit passive income. He’s been traveling across the 7 continents in the past few years and while sitting in his lofty home, he’s earning more and more.
