What is the most important tool for a successful online businessman? Laptop. If you have a slow and low-quality laptop, you are not only slowing down your success, but you may also get frustrated because it takes so much time to download the pages. That’s why today we are going to talk “What Is the Best Laptop for an Online Business?”
I will share 7 powerful options for you. And in the end, I want to hear what is your choice.
I have collected comments from several people who have used these laptops. I will not concentrate too much on technical details but rather on user experiences and prices. You can find technical information by clicking the link on the laptop.
1.Apple MacBook Pro $1,399 – 3,3 Out of 5 Stars (28 Customer Reviews)
Apple products have changed the world. They have created top-notch laptops, smartphones, tablets and other technology devices. When you are buying products from Apple, you can be sure that it’s something valuable. Apple products also have a reputation that they don’t slow down over the years.
My friend has an Apple MacBook Pro which is already 4 years old and it’s still running like a new one. But is this only a brand that Apple has created? Is it only set up to add price to their products?
Critical people say that Apple products are overpriced and you need to pay 20% extra only because there is Apple logo.
Anyway, Apple MacBook Pro is a high-quality laptop for running an online business. Even though it’s a bit pricey, you to get something that lasts for years and remains its value quite well compared to cheaper laptops.
One reason it gets only 3,3 out of 5 stars on Amazon can be that people are expecting something supernatural from Apple products. And when they have even a single challenge with a laptop (even a scratch of 0,01 mm in the background) they start complaining. What do you think?
2.2017 Newest Dell Inspiron $728 – 4,0 Out of 5 Stars (29 Customer Reviews)
This Dell computer is almost twice cheaper than Apple MacBook Pro. The processor has lots of capacity it has a RAM Size of 16GB. If you are using your laptop a lot on the move, then this may not be the best option for you. The newest Dell Inspiron 17,3″ is not very light but it’s very efficient if you compare to its rather low price.
If you use the laptop mainly as your home and move only sometimes, then this can be a great option for you.
3.Acer Aspire E5-575G-53VG – $549 – 4,2 Out of 5 Stars (1,672 Customer Reviews)
This Acer Aspire has been claimed to be the best Windows laptop for a $600 budget. It’s even cheaper than Dell but still quite effective. Of course, it’s not as valuable as two other options before, but if you don’t want to use lots of money yet, it can be a reasonable option.
When starting out your online business, you have two options:
1.Buy a great laptop right away that will last for years.
2.Buy an “okay” laptop that will last for some time and then upgrade for a better one.
When I started my online business, I chose the option number 2. I bought a laptop for $270. It worked well for a while, but when I was using other computers, I realized how slow my computer is. If I would start out all over again, I would now choose the option 1. I would have bought right away a very fast laptop that will last for years. It also speeds up the process of making a breakthrough in your online business.

Having a very successful Online Business requires some investments so going with close to 0 financial investments is not even wise. But let’s take a look at the cheapest alternative if you want to buy the cheapest one.
4.2017 Newest Lenovo Premium – $299 – 4,0 Out of 5 Stars (5 Customer Reviews)
It becomes apparent in Amazon reviews that people who buy this are aiming for a second class computer. They don’t even want to have a fast one but something that can run the necessary tools. But if you are an online business owner, you need better than an under $300 laptop.
This Lenovo is very similar to the one that I bought when I was starting out. I realized that it’s time for an upgrade. But if you have a low budget of starting your online business, then this may be a reasonable option for you.
5.Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon UltraBook – $1,399 – 5,0 Out of 5 Stars (3 Customer Reviews)
This laptop is an example that Lenovo can also build high-quality laptops. It is light, fast and is receiving high points on customer reviews. The price is as high as Apple MacBook Pro, but the quality is as good or even better. Here you don’t need to pay for an Apple brand. Some users have said that this is the best laptop that they have used for a while.
6.Apple MacBook Pro MNQG2LL/A – $1,699 – 4,3 Out of 5 Stars (190 Customer Reviews)
Another MacBook Pro but even more efficient one. This laptop is equipped with 2.9GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 and with Turbo Boost up to 3.3GHz. It’s available with 512 GB capacity if you are willing to pay even little extra.
It’s receiving very high points in customer reviews. If you are willing to buy something that works fast as a thought, then this is your choice. If you make a breakthrough with your online business, investing in a bit more expensive laptop will pay itself back very quickly.
7.Samsung ATIV Book 9 – $1,139 – 4,6 Out of 5 Stars (10 Customer Reviews)
This ultimately high-performance laptop has got the best reviews of our 7 laptops in our list. 4,6 out of 5 tells a powerful story that people who have bought this enjoy using it. Some people are saying comments like

It’s very fast computer and will work as a wonderful tool for building your successful online business if you buy it.
What Is Your Choice?
I hope that you have liked reading these ideas and thoughts. Now I would like to hear from you. Which one of these laptops would you choose? Or are you using some other laptop?
Most of the time, for you to stay online for a long time you must not just a big available space on your laptop but also you must have a out standing ram, 4gb of ram will already be good so while you are doing online business your laptop wont hang or wont be laggy. You can also try those Asus Rog laptops, many only entrepreneur that I know use that laptop.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
You know what I like about your website its functionality, the approach is not only one, it deals with everything, but certainly, there’s only one mission. I could pick everything you mentioned here. if I do have money I will pick Mac for sure. I’m using Acer Aspire E14- E5-473-37XV this is cheaper than Acer Aspire E5-575G-53VG. it is fine, I have no problem and happy with it. I’ve been using this for almost two years now for business online.
I’m glad you like my approach.
Mac is a great choice. I was last week in Lisbon, Portugal and went to work in a coworking space during the day. I looked around and all people had the same brand: Mac! 😉
Man all of these laptops look pretty solid to me and i know most people love the apple mac book air pro, but I’ve only had one or two apple products in my life, just always preferred Sony, Microsoft, and Samsung for price and functionality personally.
I still use my old Sony Vaio which still works like new from 8 years ago lol, but i do have a new Samsung ATIV Book 9 as well which i got a few months back, so thats the one i would suggest for people as im really familiar and used to Samsung products.
Which option would you go with as your favourite?
Hi Marley,
I think all of them are good and it depends on person’s needs. But I am thinking about buying Samsung ATIV Book 9 as well because it has got so positive reviews. People who buy it seem to love it.

Hello again Roope,
Wow macbook #1! I’ve heard so many good news about macbook but I’m more of a windows guy and a majority of the companies here in Malaysia uses that so I’d be the odd one out if I use macbook.
The Dell Inspiron looks really cool and for $728 its an amazing price for 17.3″, it got me really interested. Do you happen to know how heavy it is though?
I use to have an Alien ware laptop, the exact model as the one Sheldon was using in Bin Bang Theory but turns out it was so heavy I just couldn’t put it in my backpack. I ended up buying that laptop bag with a trolley pull instead, the one that looks like an airport luggage hand carry lol
Hi Riaz,
I didn’t put these into an order which one is the best or the worst. Just showed some very reasonable options. Dell Inspiron is a good laptop and has achieved 4 out of 5 in customer reviews. The weight is ~3,35kg. Not the lightest one but not too heavy either. What do you think?

Hi Roope, thanks for a great post. I am struggling for inspiration on getting a new laptop, and even with your 7 options I am not sure if the right one is there. I would discount the mac, as I have always used pc’s, but like you say, the cheaper ones have drawbacks, and the price of the Samsung is over 4 figures and a big investment for what it is. The Acer Aspire would seem to be the best option for me, but you don’t seem overwhelmed with it, and just give it an “ok” rating. What do you think. Not good enough ? Regards, Chris
Hi Chris,
it really depends on your needs if Acer Aspire is enough. I would say that for most people it’s enough but if you want a very fast computer for running your online business, then it’s not enough. For that price level, it’s for sure a great choice as you can see from the reviews (4,2 out of 5). Users have been very satisfied and I think you would be too if you don’t want to buy a more expensive one.

This review is really as I am in the midst of getting a laptop for more access to online work when I’m travelling or out.
I currently use a desk top and an iPad but the iPad loses a lot of functionality as compared to a normal laptop. I notice that you did not cover any of Asus laptops which is one of my consideration. What are your takes on Asus? I’m looking at something raning 500-800 bucks, financially a little tight right here.
Hi Leo,
you are right that iPad is not as practical as a laptop or a desktop for building an online business. When you have a bigger screen and a normal keyboard, you get things done faster.
This Asus-laptop seems to be a reasonable choice in your price level. It has 7th-generation Intel Core i5 processor 2.5 GHz and with RAM Size 8GB. 410 users have left a review on Amazon and the average score is 4,1 out of 5 which tells that people who have used this laptop are very satisfied.
What do you think?
