Literably Job Reviews – $20/Hour?
In order to help you to understand what is Literably and how does it work, I’ve created a following video to walk you through all the details.
When you watch until the end of the video, you’ll also find out my #1 recommendation to make money online.
If you have any questions about Literably or making money online in general, ask me in the comments below and I’ll be more than happy to help you out.
What Is Literably?
Literably is a platform that offers you an opportunity to make money by listening to simple audio files from students.
Literably was founded in April 2013 by an Entrepreneur called Tyler Borek from California so the company has been around already for many, many years and it’s well-established.
You can earn anything from $10 to $20 per hour depending on your speed. The faster you can transcribe, the more money you can make faster.
There are 3 different types of users on the platform:
- Teachers
- Students
- Transcriptionists (you)
If you enjoy doing transcription jobs online, I recommend that you check out also other transcription platforms such as TranscribeMe and Rev.
How Does Literably Work?
The process is very simple:
- Teacher gives a student a reading assignment.
- Student reads a text out loud.
- You check out if they have read everything correctly and make corrections.
After you have finished the transcription, you’ll get through PayPal.
Literably pays weekly and that’s definitely one of the benefits of their platform if your goal is to make some money.
When you’re doing the transcriptions, make sure that you do them correctly because otherwise Literably may fire you for making too many mistakes.
Who Is the Literably For?
Literably is available worldwide, not only in the US as many other transcription websites such as Transcribe.com.
In my opinion, Literably is the best for those people who want to earn some side income from home every now and then.
It’s not for you if your goal is to make a life-changing income or a living online.
One of the reasons is that they obviously have a limited amount of jobs available and many people are willing to do this kind of job for a very small income.

Literably Application Process
Before you want to start your job on Literably and earn money, you’ll need to go through a simple application process.
It works like this:
- Sign up on Literably as a scorer.
- Pass the epplication test where you’ll get 6 sample recordings.
- Go through Literably training that they provide for you.
- (Start doing the transcription jobs to earn money.)
Literably doesn’t require that you’d have prior experience or a specific education.
The most important thing that you need is to be able to do the job well. The requirements are not high but you’ll need to have some attention to details.
As I quickly mentioned above, they’ll provide you the steps and the training on how to do the job once you pass their simple application test.
If you want to make money by this kinds of transcription jobs, I recommend that you get a basic Headset on Amazon because it can help you to do your job more easily.
Again, I want to point out that Literably is NOT my #1 recommendation to make money. One of the reasons is that you need to be extremely careful with everything and they don’t pay very well.
Some years ago I learned to make money online even though I was a complete beginner.
The best part about my “job” is that I can do it anywhere in the world and earn sometimes even $3,000 in a single day, while sleeping.

Pros & Cons of Literably
1. Available Worldwide
A lot of transcription jobs are only available in the US. That puts restrictions for people from other countries.
However, the good news is that Literably is available also for people outside from the US.
2. Pay Is Okay
Literably claims to be around $10 – 20 per hour.
Comparing to many other transcription job sites, that’s a pretty good salary.
Of course, it’s not as good as with better ways to make money online but it’s still an okay pay.
3. The Company Is Reliable
There are a lot of scams online and sometimes it may feel if you can trust anything.
A great thing about Literably is that it was already founded back in 2013 which makes it a very well-established company.
1. The Work Is Monotonous
Let’s be honest… If you keep on doing simple transcription jobs like this for years, you’re not going to experience much personal nor professional growth.
It’s one of those jobs that almost “anyone can do it”. Once you handle the job, you won’t get a feeling of growing and going to the next level since it’s basically doing the same thing over and over again.
2. There Is a Limited Amount of Work Available
If you are somewhat familiar with online transcription sites, they don’t usually offer you an opportunity to make a full-time income online.
You’ll need to wait for available task that pop up every now and then.
In addition, you’ll need to be fast to accomplish those tasks before someone else does.
3. There Are Much Better Opportunities Available
Again, let me be completely honest…
Why would you choose $10 – 20 / hour job when there are jobs that can potentially make you +$10,000/month from home by doing something that you love?
Doing “B-level tasks” would hinder you from accomplishing your best life ever and creating the life of your dreams.
Is Literably a Scam Or Legit?
As you have probably learned so far, Literably is not a scam. It’s legitimate company that pays weekly through PayPal.
They have been operating for years and their founder is from the United States.
Personally, I haven’t found anything sketchy related to this company.
Conclusion – Is Literably Worth It?
In my opinion, Literably is not worth it.
You have a lot of better ways to make money online than this website by doing things that you love.
