What is Quicktate?
Quicktale is an online transcription company. It hires transcribers from all parts of the world and people work for them on freelance basis. They transcribe a lot of documents like medical files, legal, memos, as well as phone calls recordings and other audio files and conference calls.
Documents to be transcribed varied from two minutes to one hour and so on. They always have plenty of documents to transcribe and because of that, they prefer to hire speed writers and transcribers who can transcribe sixty to eight words in a minute.
Workers as said before are from all parts of the world, and it is designed in such a way that you work from home. You only need a computer and an internet connection. Fast and speed internet connection is a necessity for the type of job offered by the company.
It simply involves hearing tape recorded audio and then writing out what you heard. It involves writing out what you heard verbatim without grammar and punctuation errors. Many people are working for the company, but the question on the lips of many people is whether the efforts put in the job are worth it.
This is exactly where the problem lies. The payment is not enough, and it does not match the efforts you put in. It is necessary for those trying their hands in transcription writing for the first time, and not the best for professionals.

Quicktate jobs – How does Quicktate Work?
The job is available worldwide and before you can work for them, you must first register with the company online. It is a question of filling out the forms online and providing answers to the simple questions asked you. The questions are general information and they have to do with your personal details and nothing more.
Moreover, the company requires that you provide them with a few references about you. These must not be people you are related to. To work with them, they do not demand any resume from you, but they want to be convinced that you can do the job very well and that is why they will test your typing experience.
Furthermore, before you become one of their workers, you will pass a quiz or test. The way you perform in the quiz will determine whether they should send assignments to you or not. If after all the trials and you succeed, then your account will be approved and this means that you can begin to receive an assignment from the company.
When your account is approved, you can log into the company and begin to write for them. If you have a job assigned to you, the audio will begin to play on your system once you log into the account.
These files are not difficult and many of them are just a few minutes long. There are some of them that can last for an hour or more than that and so on.
The job simply involves typing what you hear from the audio and after you have done that, then you have to proofread what you typed to ensure that they are grammar and punctuation correct. The frequency of files you receive from the company determines how much you receive from them at the end. The job here is not always available.
There are times when the files will come to you and there are times you will be without files. This means that you cannot hope on that for a living. It is something you can be doing while doing other things at the same time. Moreover, the payment is not such that can sustain you.

Is Quicktate Available Outside of the U.S.?
One good thing about the company is that it is open to people outside the US and those within. It does not specifically state which countries are allowed to work on their system and those not allowed. Many people across the world register with them.
However, if you want to apply for the job outside the US, the company demands that you provide your Tax ID number. The same process is applied even for those inside the country.
Even the test you will be subjected to and pass is to determine whether you can transcribe accurately or not, but they do not demand you provide proof of any previous experience.
However, you must provide certain materials they require to do the work, which include a computer or laptop as said earlier as well as high-speed internet connection and a headset and so on. Even foot pedal is recommended.
Before you can work with the company, they will charge your account fifteen dollars and they claimed that the money is for your background check. This means that they want to know the person that works for them. The company claimed that they will not hire anybody who has a criminal record to work for them.
The system has all the features you require while working for them such as going forward and backwards to the audio files sent to you. You can re-listen to the files to ensure that you get the words correctly. Type everything you heard and submit it and then receive your payment for them from the company.
Quicktate provides also mobile apps but if you want to do the work, the laptop or computer is highly recommended.
Quicktate Typing Test
It is already pointed above that one of the conditions for acceptance to work for the company is that you must pass a typing test. They do not demand you have a previous experience before you can work for them, but you must pass the test before they can take you. The test will prove to them that you can actually transcribe accurately.
The other things they may require you include the integrity check of fifteen dollars. They want to be sure that you are what you claim to be since they will not let in somebody with a criminal record into their system.
Who is Quicktate For?
The company is originally designed for anybody who knows how to transcribe documents online. It is for you if you can prove to them through the test that you can transcribe accurately and you can do that very fast since the system depends on a fast internet connection.
It is also for those who are serious workers and who can meet deadlines. If you prove to them that you are a fast transcriber and that you can always deliver on time, then you are eligible to work for them.
On the other hand, if you are a serious worker, you could make even +$10,000/month online on other sites like these 5 guys.
Moreover, it is available to you once you can authenticate your identity by passing the background check as they claim that they cannot hire criminals to work for them. This means that you must not have a previous criminal record before you can work for the company.
Whether you are an experienced or a beginner transcriber Quicktate will accept you to work for them once you pass the test. However, it is not available to all persons. If you cannot provide a Tax ID number whether you are in America or outside America, the company is not for you.
The “salary” on Quicktate is extremely small. This member reported earning only one dollar per hour.
If you are not a serious transcriber, and which means that you cannot always meet the deadline, you are not a good candidate for the company. If you have a previous criminal record and which means that your background integrity check fails, then you are not good for the company.
If you have interest in transcribing from home and you have all their requirements, you can register with the company, pass the test, and provide everything they require and begin to work for them.
You should know however, files are not available all the time. This means that you will not solely depend on the company for a livelihood because you may not be getting jobs all the time.
Whenever, files are available you will get one. Moreover, do not think that once you apply that they accept you immediately. It can take sometimes before they consider your application and invite you to work with them.

- The jobs are not always available and this implies that you cannot depend on that for your livelihood
- The pay is very small. This means that it does not worth the time you spend on the job.
- It can be very time-consuming. You may end up spending hours without earning anything significant. You could make much better money on Wealthy Affiliate or on many other websites.
Is Quicktate Worth It?
Quicktake does not worth it. The company is legit, the problem is that you cannot depend on that for several reasons. It is just identified that jobs are not readily available and because of that, there is no guaranteed that you will always be getting the files from them once they accept you to be one of their transcribers.
Secondly, the pay they give is not worth it because it is not enough. If you spend the same time on other online jobs, you can earn far more than what you currently earn from this company. For many people especially professionals, it amounts to a waste of time and resources to wait for the company.
Time and efforts spent on Quicktale do not worth it at all. If it is possible, you can consider other alternatives. There are lots of them that pay more and which demands less task.
Many Quicktate reviews say that the low is extremely small.
The company pays it workers with PayPal and they pay every week on Mondays. So far, there is no evidence that the company has failed in this except if Monday falls on a public holiday, in which case they have to pay its workers the next working day.
Currently they pay just ¼ cents for every word for general transcription while they pay ½ cents for legal and medical transcriptions and so on. Glassdoor has listed lots of reviews from Quicktate workers.
You can see that the pay is less than what you get in other companies, because of this, you cannot depend on them for your livelihood. You can try on other things that pay more than what they currently offer.
Is Quicktate a Scam?
Quicktate is not a scam. The company is 100% legit. The problem with the company is the poor remuneration. If you spend half of the time you spend transcribing documents and files, you can earn far more than what the company currently pays you.
It is not a scam. Before they accept you, they have to do their background check to satisfy themselves that you are not a criminal. You can hardly see any scam website that can do that. Scam websites are not interested in their integrity, they are only looking for how they can defraud you.
The company has been in existence since 2008, there is no evidence that the company has defrauded anybody. Moreover, even though the pay is not worth the efforts you put in the company, most of the entry level transcribers working for them are happy with what they do and what they are remunerated with.
To show that the company is not a scam, the owners of the website are known. They can be interacted with. There is nothing hiding in the way they work.
Conclusion – Should You Sign Up to Quicktate Or Not?
Quicktale is a legit transcription company and when you work for them, you will be sure of receiving payments from them weekly on Mondays. The pay is rather small and because of that the work they offer is not such that can replace your regular income.
This means that you can be doing that to supplement other things you do. The job is good for entry level workers and it may fun for them for a little while.
However, if you want to make money online, Quicktate is not for you. Their pay is awful and you will most likely leave frustrated if your goal is to earn money.

The required background check and the low compensation make this far from being a scam. Those aspiring to be a transcriptionist as you’ve mentioned can try out this one just to gain experience if ever they passed the test. The unexperienced or the entry level workers can’t really demand for much. However, if the jobs or the audio files are not readily available then you can’t really maximize the learning experience in a short time. There are better options than this one.

I think these transcription companies take advantage of desperate people. Take quicktate for example. They make you go through a background check and want references. Does this make any sense to you? You never go to their offices. So what if you a criminal. If you can transcribe it shouldn’t matter. They need to remember that they are paying you peanuts. Transcribing is like working in a sweat shop.
Ha ha. I think you are right. Working for transcription companies is not really worth it in the long run. It would be much more profitable to set up your own transcription business and get clients directly.
Transcribe Anywhere gives wonderful tools, resources and guidance to achieve that goal. Once you would Start getting lots of clients, you could start outsourcing the work to other people and make big money.
I think that’s the only way to make big money by transcribing. Working as a freelancer for these companies just doesn’t pay off.
I would love to be able to do something like online because I am always looking for ways to make money online. But unfortunately, it looks like this is like most of the other task sites. For the task required, they just don’t pay enough for us which is a shame really. I’m sure a lot of people would love to do something like this if they were paid decently.

However, tasks like programming, affiliate marketing or trading are more profitable because most people don’t have persistence to master those skills.

No matter how one looks at it, all transcription works are not easy and the pay is not commensurate to the efforts invested in the job. This is one peculiar issue with all transcription jobs and I seriously doubt that it’s going to be changing anytime soon.
This is very clear with how things are done with Quicktate transcription company, it’s unless one has excess time that is not used for anything useful, then taking up job offers from Quicktate would be considered an option in my book.
Yeah, one will not become rich by doing transcription. It can be a way to make some money for a while but as a long-term option I don’t usually recommend it.
A more profitable thing would be for example creating a transcription business and outsourcing the work.
Those who look at earning money on a short term basis don’t seem to have a big vision. I don’t have anything against making money on short term basis but I believe it’s a lot better to seek long term money earning avenues. When you are certain of your income inflow to be on long term without the fear of getting cut off from funding, you will have the incentive to go into more investment.

So even though you work hard and finish a lot of jobs here in quickstate it is still impossible to earn well here because of the salary that they give is too low? Or there are a lot of jobs that you can do here in quick state? I mean in one day how many jobs I can do? Is there a limit?
I think the limit this as many as they have available. So, if they have lots of jobs available, you can work more on their site. But the salary is so low that I highly recommend staying away from the site as I have explained many times on this article.
Why would you is waste your time earning 2 dollars per hour when there are sites where you can make more than $20 per hour or even much more if you have good skills
Jobs not available is one of the problems associated with transcriptionist job. You can earn good money but it will be possible if you have work. If you do not have any works good payment system does not mean anything. I am always staying away from the programs like this one. Thanks for the review.
One problem with Quicktate is that they don’t always have available jobs but that’s just a single reason. Their pay is also extremely small which is a bigger reason to stay away in my opinion.
This site was not a scam, but your only enemy here is the extra small salary. But maybe if you will gonna work hard if you are really dedicated you will earn enough. But for those who want some fast money and for those who are looking for stable income this is not for you. This is just good for those who are finding extra income like for the students.
To be honest, I think that the dedication will not help with Quicktate. Their “salary” is just too low that you will not earn good money with them anyway.
