What Is PartyLite?
PartyLite is an MLM company that sells candles & home decor, and they also have the option for people to join as distributors and sell their products and share the profits.
Let’s see the history of this company first.
PartyLite launched back in 1973, and it fully operates since then. This company is a subdivision of a company named Blyth Inc, and approximately 19 years ago, this company was the largest in the candle industry (and as a manufacturer).
The founder of this company is Mabel Baker, and she basically created the company from a passion for making candles from wild bayberries.
Mabel Baker was the founder of PartyLite.
The fact that PartyLite has stayed so long in the game means that they are doing something right in order to be a functional company for so many years.
PartyLite is actually one of the oldest candle companies in the world right now.
I have to admit that their products have good quality and I even bought some in the past.
PartyLite Products – What Do They Offer?
PartyLite is a company that sells candles and home decor.
When the company started, they didn’t have all these products they have today. They continue to increase the product line, such as candles, home decor, home fragrances, bath, and body care products.
PartyLite provides a huge variety of different candles.
So far, the company boosts its sales through consultants worldwide.
PartyLite consultant is a person that decided to join as a distributor of the company and sell their products or even recruit others (I’ll explain later) and get paid for it.
These people usually promote the products through something that they call home shows. Basically, the person who wants to promote the products and recruit others is known as the host.
The company has more than 70.000 consultants so far; they continue to grow day after day. If you want to maximize your earnings as a PartyLite consultant, I highly recommend that you follow 4 proven steps that you’ll learn in my Ultimate Make Money Online guide here.
PartyLite Compensation Plan – How Does PartyLite Work?
First of all, let me tell you this. After so many reviews I’ve made, I saw countless similar MLM compensation plans. PartyLite is no different.
The only difference that this compensation plan has is it’s very simple to understand despite with similar companies I’ve reviewed such as iBuumerang.
The plan has 3 levels:
- The first level is the Unit leader, and you can make up to 38% profit on your personal sales
- The second level is Team Builder and you can earn up to 25-32% commission on your personal sales plus a one-time $200 product award.
- The 3rd and final level is a consultant in which you can earn 25-32% profit on your personal sales. If you sell $1.000 / month, you will also earn $250 extra.
This is a multi-level marketing system (MLM), and basically, that means that when you become a Team Builder or a Unit leader and recruit others, you will also receive commissions from the people under you that made sales.
For example, as a team builder, you must sponsor (recruit) 2 people and make $2000 a month, and you will also receive an extra $640.
As a Unit Leader, you will earn an extra $1100 if you make $2000 in sales in one month and another $5000 in sales from your team (the people you recruited).
Most people, at this point, believe that PartyLite is a Pyramid Scheme. At the end of this post, we will talk about the difference between an MLM and a pyramid scheme. So keep on reading.
On the other hand, if you want to stay away from programs where you need to recruit others to make money, just click the green button below to see my #1 recommendation where you don’t need to recruit a single person to make money.
How to Make Money with PartyLite?
Hands down. This is the most important part, and I believe that’s why you are here at this moment. You want to know how to make money with PartyLite.
We have prepared for you a +9,000-word Ultimate Make Money Online guide that will help you to make a life-changing income with PartyLite or any other company that you want to promote.
Before we see how to make money with PartyLite, you need to know how much it will cost you to join.
In order to join as a PartyLite Consultant, you need to contact the company, and they will send you your starter kit at no charge.
When they send you the starter kit, you will basically have to prepare for your first Party. The starter kit includes a few samples of the product line, and alongside, you will also receive catalogs and business building tools.
The truth about Starter Kit is that you have to generate a revenue of $350 in order to “escape” the $99 that you will have to pay if you don’t make the sales.
Now that you know the cost to join, let’s see how to make money.
I already mentioned above the 2 ways to make money. One way is the “retail way,” which basically, you sell the company’s products, and you receive a commission, and the other way is when you recruit others to do the same.
If you ask me, the most money comes with the recruiting for 2 reasons. The first reason is that if your team makes sales you make money without a lot of work or to be exact without even working, and secondly if you have 2-5 or even 10 people in your team you make commissions from all of them.
The fastest way to make a lot of money with PartyLite is to recruit tons of other people to your downline. Learn 4 steps to do it on “autopilot”.
This is a common MLM strategy to lure and show people that make money online; it’s easy and requires no work. Let me tell you this. This is not the truth.
Lastly, you can even buy wholesale products and sell them, and I’ve seen something similar to a company called Amway. which you can even create your own store (or if you have one) and sell their products in that way.
PartyLite Reviews & Complaints
Why do you need to know the complaints and read other people’s reviews?
Usually, a strong tool to understand things about the company comes from its members. What a few of those members did? They write complaints or “reviews” about the company.
If a company has a bad reputation online, it will be very hard for you to make sales or even recruit others, and I guess you know what that means to you… NO MONEY. The internet gave us access to this information, and it’s very easy to find.
If you write at Google Search “PartyLite Review,” the first thing that you will see are the complaints…
The average rating on 19 PartyLite reviews on ConsumerAffairs is 2 stars out of 5.
See a couple of examples below:
Pamela was forced to continue on PartyLite list and had a very negative experience with a consultant.
Even though PartyLite brands themselves as a high-quality candle company, it’s good to acknowledge that some people experienced serious issues with their products.
These are only 2 examples of the PartyLite complaints and I recommend that if you seriously consider joining this company, you’ll read through them all. Having a lot fo complaints is only going to make it harder for you to recruit and sell the products.
Secondly, you have to think about the price. I can walk for 5 minutes and get to the local store and buy candles for a very small price. If you try to buy from PartyLite, you will see candles selling for $35+. I get it there is a market even for that price, but what will people do when they see a $35 candle? Will they buy it easy? I’ll let you think of this.
To be honest, you can find “cheaper” candles everywhere nowadays. At least we can admit that the products inside PartyLite’s usually have a good quality.
Pros & Cons of PartyLite
1. The Company Is Well Established
This company is literally older than me. I believe we can safely say that this company makes money for many many years now. This company is legit, and I’m sure that they will stay strong for the years to come.
The downside here is that 90-95% of the people lose money with MLM companies. Only the top 5% makes money and top 1% makes a significant amount of money.
2. They Have High-Quality Products
Yes, most products have a good quality. Also, if you ever go to a PartyLite’s host show party, you can even find samples at a discount price and test them for yourself.
On the other hand, skeptics claim that discounted prices are still overpriced and it’s just a sales trick to try to get you buy more.
Will an average person see the difference between a $50 and a $5 candle? Probably not much.
1. There Are Much Better Opportunities Out There
It’s not a new thing for me. As I mentioned earlier, 90-95% of the people usually lose money with MLM companies. A bad reputation online plus a statistically small chance of success makes it hard for me to recommend this company to you.
Furthermore, this work is not so easy as it sounds. You have to take care of all the orders you have and send them to the people that ordered from you and if something goes wrong talk with the people, listen to their complaints and solve their problems.
2. You Do NOT Own a Business!
If you believe that you are independent as they say or anything else, try to stop working and see if you will still have income…
You don’t own the products; you don’t own anything. You are an employee who is searching all day and tries to promote the company in exchange for a small portion of the sale/s.
I can’t remember where I saw this, but It goes something like this.
“If you decide to join and work for an MLM, you are always the customer of the company.”
This is true! You buy and sell the products, you try to recruit others to the company and guess what the company is always the winner who makes most of the money with your own effort.
3. It’s Not BBB Accredited
After so many years, 46, if I’m not wrong, you expect that a company like this will be BBB (Better Business Bureau) accredited.
I’m not saying that a company that is not BBB accredited is a scam. I’m just saying that it is safer to see it with a good rating. Most MLM companies that are +46 years old are BBB accredited.
Is PartyLite a Pyramid Scheme?
In order to understand this, I want to tell you that there is a small difference between MLM’s and Pyramid Schemes. If you understand this, you will have your own opinion and understand the companies who try to scam you.
MLM stands for Multi-Level-Marketing. An MLM company means that you can recruit others under you and make money from the people you recruited. The same company, although they have retail products and the recruiting system, is not the only way for the company to make money (or for their consultants)
A Pyramid scheme in a few words is when a company’s main source or even the only source of income is from the recruiting system. If the only way for a company to survive is to recruit others and they DO NOT have any retail products, then the company is a pyramid scheme.
With that said, PartyLite obviously has retail products, and recruiting is not the only way to make, and therefore, PartyLite is NOT a pyramid scheme.
Nothing more to explain in this section. I believe I fully covered and proved to you that this company is not a pyramid scheme.
This is how PartyLite business model looks like but it’s still not an illegal pyramid scheme and they have been operating almost half a century.
Conclusion – Is PartyLite a Scam Or Legit?
Based on my research and my review, I believe that by now, you created your own opinion. Anyway, let me tell you that Partylite is a legit company and definitely not a scam. They operate since 1973, and they only grow bigger.
You have nothing to afraid of when buying products.
With that said, I won’t recommend you to try and make income in that way. Not only because I’m not a fan of MLM’s, no that’s not the reason. Is that you will probably lose money and waste a lot of your precious time while trying to be an employ basically.
