Yes, you are right. We will talk about how you can do business with food aside from selling it in retail.

But the question is, can you make a profit from selling the same thing in a different business model?

Summary: Sylvie Rochette started Epicure Selections in 1997 as a multi-level marketing company. Aside from providing business opportunities by selling the products, the company also allows people to go social by creating cooking classes.

Is Epicure Recommended? Just like any other network marketing company out there, Epicure is not the best way to make a lucrative business. Unless you want to have experience in the food business, it would work for you.

What Is Epicure?

If you have an interest in the food business, perhaps this multi-level marketing company suits you. Why?

Epicure Selections caters to this exact need. Its niche revolves around creating good food, which means that the ingredients used are real food our body needs.

It may sound like a good opportunity to make an income in this hobby. What makes it interesting is that it is in a different business model.

You aren’t here to focus on creating good food and make an income from it. Since this is a network marketing company, you have to guarantee that you’re making profits from what you’re doing.

To do that, they allow you to do the cooking class and create downlines to earn more money.

If you take a look at one of its attractive offers, Epicure Selections also urges people to learn about good food and its business.

Generally, its concept is peculiar among the other multi-level marketing companies I reviewed so far.

Unlike health and wellness MLMs like Jerky Direct that sells beef jerky, Epicure allows you to have the unique and real experience with food making.

Who Is Epicure For?

Epicure is a great business opportunity while having a good time in creating good food.

For only $99 (mini business kit), you can launch your business with products worth $250. This is a special price for a mini business kit. For regular kits, it costs $125.

Each mini kit comprises:

• Chef’s Apron
• Good Mexican, Real Fast, Meal Kit
• Prep Pro Paring Knife
• Cutting Mats (Sets of 4)
• 2-in-1 Citrus Press
• Multipurpose Steamer
• Prep Bowls (Set of 4)
• Chocolate Pudding Mix (2)
• 4-in-1 Spice Spoon
• Good Food, Real Results Guide
• Catalogs, business tools, etc.

According to their kit, you can get more products without spending a dime only if you accomplished the first 4 qualified Cooking Classes.

If you plan not to join the mini business kit launch and prefer to have the regular membership, you will start with $125 for the business kit with the inclusion of $450 worth of Epicure products.

Aside from earning compensation for building a team and earning a $40 bonus, you can also hold cooking classes. Within the first 4 classes you handle, you can earn $75 in product credit.

Epicure pays reimbursement for products good for 2 months if you manage to do 8 cooking classes in 2 months.

From there, you can get the idea of the fun side of MLM. It’s the same vibe when I felt when I reviewed Origami Owl in which the owner allows its members to choose the designs of each piece of jewelry.

In addition to the Epicure compensation plan, they also pay out $40 as US Sponsor Bonus, which is unlimited. This is only great if you happen to sponsor a Consultant at the Fast Start Period.

According to Anne Dickson, one of the consultants, you can get more than what you paid.

Not only the products are available for your business, but Epicure also provides more stuff you need to run it, such as:

• Training from Epicure head office
• Training from uplines and consultants
• Access to training
• Supportive community from FB group
• Own eCommerce site
• Business design

Pros & Cons of Epicure

As you can see from the information I gathered from my in-depth research, you can see mostly the good side of Epicure.

At this point, we’ll dig into it deeper and see the pros and cons of the company.

1. 100% Family-Owned

The Epicure business started with Sylvia Rochette, who was an original spice cart entrepreneur and also a concerned mom.

She wanted to provide the best food for her family, she realized the importance of having high-quality spices in creating a good meal.

2. 100% Handmade Products

Based on the company’s history, the products Epicure Selections are exactly the ones Rochette created from scratch in her kitchen.

Gluten-free and nut-free, people with these allergies and intolerances won’t have any problems enjoying the good food using Epicure products.

Among the food products they sell are:

• Balsamic Vinaigrette Dressing Mix ($11)
• Apple Pie Spice ($7)
• Smokin’ Mango Rim Trimmer ($8)
• Vegetable Bouillon Base ($11)
• Bali Glow Dry Glaze ($12)
• Fajita Sauce Seasoning Mix ($8)

3. Fun In Business

As far as the fun goes in this peculiar network marketing company, Epicure Selections tops the list.

Among 100+ MLMs I reviewed over the past year, I only see a few companies that don’t include the fun-side in the business. And one of those is Epicure Selections. Kudos.

1. Low-Income From Selling Spices

As far as the business goes, in reality, you won’t get that much when you prefer selling spices with Epicure.

This is why the company encourages you to buy the mini kit. As you can see, they include several pieces of kitchenware to add to the cost.

In that way, they can see higher-priced packages to begin your business. Well, in fact, you only need the spices to sell and stick with these, not the cookware they include.

If that’s the case, you will only make an income if you sell each business kit for $125 or $99 during special promos to new invites.

The only ways you can make money with Epicure is limited to creating downlines and hoping you could get more parties to host your cooking classes to make an income.

2. Not BBB-Accredited Company

Although the Better Business Bureau (BBB) gave them a high rating, Epicure Selections failed to get the accreditation status.

If we take a look at the basis, there are no recorded complaints from its consumers. So, we end up with BBB’s analysis based on how complete the details are.

Often, the review site will ask for complete information regarding the foundation and other supporting documents. If the BBB is satisfied, Epicure will get a higher rating.

When it comes to the accreditation status, we don’t know why they failed to get it at this point. If you have any ideas why let us know in the comment section below.

3. A Network Marketing Company

You can sell spices and make a lucrative profit from as is. I mean, you can sell each for $10, for instance, as a retail price.

There’s no need to go through the hellish process of searching for a consultant just to get access to the products, right?

Though building the business with Epicure sounds fun, the fact we have to deal with the number of cooking classes and other parties just to secure our income isn’t worth it.

Cooking is fun but when the pressure to generate sales is constantly present, the fun will be gone.

Overall, the company mission sounds fun and enticing, but the business side of it isn’t recommendable.

Is Epicure a Scam or Legit?

If you try to take a look at their official site, you will already notice that this is a legitimate company.

Given the information and real consultant speaking, there’s no doubt that Epicure Selections is not a scam.

When I pointed out a consultant that spoke about the compensation, I’m referring to Anne Dickson, one of the few consultants who reached out and explained how Epicure works.

On her website, she thoroughly explained the whole process, especially about how you can build a business with it. You can watch the video above to know what I’m talking about.

Anyway, Epicure is a legitimate multi-level marketing company that attracted millions of people around the globe with its one-of-a-kind product line.

Conclusion – Is Epicure Worth It?

Should the Epicure products be sold in retail, the greater business opportunity there will be.

The product itself is already receiving praise from the community. From there, you already have a gist of what kind of flagship we’re talking about at this point.

The problem here is that it is in a multi-level marketing business model. So, you have to grow, too, as a member. Not only as a fan of cooking and food, but you also have to be a businessman.

That forces you to hold at least 4 cooking classes every single month to generate more sales in your account. Otherwise, you’ll be in trouble.

If everything goes smoothly, great for you then because not everyone has the opportunity to enjoy joining MLM as much as you do.
