What is WebTalk?
I know it saddening but there’s not that much information about this company and its executives. As I dug into their official website in hopes of getting some clues about their history and its mission behind building a social media platform, there’s none.
Based on gathered resources, WebTalk is built as a network marketing company intended to sell features relatively similar to how Facebook and other social media platforms like LinkedIn combined functions.
If Mint.Com has budget tracking features, if myEcon has the credit monitoring software, WebTalk has communication-related features.
How Does WebTalk Work?
As soon as I came across with their official website and hovered through the whole page, it has the same feel as Skype and LinkedIn. On top of that, there’s another Multi-Level Marketing company, YourNight.
Basically, it functions as the middleman just as any social media works in our daily lives. It aids in keeping the relationships and communication between people as active as possible.
The thing WebTalk sets apart from the typical social media platform is that it limits its audience by implementing paid features based on the number of connections in your account. That is if you opt to extend the number of people or features to maximize the platform according to your needs.

How to Make Money with WebTalk?
"SocialCPX" is a coined term WebTalk uses to refer to their compensation plan. According to sources, the affiliate's payout is outsourced from the revenue (from advertising fees and premium subscription fees collected).
Firstly, you have to be one of their members before you’re entitled to receive compensation from the company. You can do so when you register on the site for free. Once done, you’ll access to limited features as promised unless you pay for add-ons.
To put it in simpler terms, you're receiving your commission payout from the revenue WebTalk collected from various sources.
Hence, your income relies on the amount of money the company generates. You can't guarantee how much you would earn in one month to the other.
Below is the video of YourNight showing its compensation plan, which is believed to have similarities as to how WebTalk compensate its members.
WebTalk [UGLY] Truths Revealed!
1. No Background Details
There is no exact information about WebTalk and its history per se. This is why I gathered sources to connect them into a complete picture as to how its founder, Robert Garbowicz, established another social media MLM aside from building Your Night with the same structure.
Take note: There was no stipulated name on the website nor on the Better Business Bureau (BBB) about the persons behind the platform.
It’s determined that the above-mentioned name was responsible for WebTalk after knowing its domain registered to this name, who are believed to be the founding executive.
2. MLM Idea Won't Work
Why would a person spend some bucks for the sake of communicating with someone if Facebook can? If we want to talk with family members, we have Skype.
If we want to connect with professionals, we have LinkedIn. All of these social media platforms are free to use. So, why bother spending $20 for limited features, right?
3. No Guaranteed ROI
This is based on the reliance on the company revenue which isn’t guaranteed to be steady enough to compensate the members if they ever refer someone to register on WebTalk.
They aren’t as big as Facebook or Twitter with billions of users to confidently say they could survive the compensation rates at a steady pace.
4. History Of Bankruptcy
Like MyEcon with its former company Maxxis, WebTalk has a similar story wherein the founding executives try hard to establish a new social media MLM with a different name.
To me, it sounds like they don’t want to give up on the idea that you can build a network marketing business around social media.
It doesn’t matter if they failed in their former platform, YourNight with only more or less 100,000 registered users versus 1 million predicted number prior to launching. In the end, it ended its operation less than 12 months since it launched.
What I Like About WebTalk?
Honestly, there’s nothing to like about this social media Multi-Level Marketing Company. Because it simply doesn’t work.
Big companies like Facebook, Twitter, among others are difficult to compete since the world uses them for the same purpose, communication.

WebTalk landing page shows a bit of its features and its sign up form. Other than these, there's none.
With that being said, why would I spend a lot of money to get access for features if I could have them all for free on the above-mentioned platforms?
Why do I have to bother myself inviting more people to use if they’re using the free ones available? These are real questions. Hence, my opinion about disliking WebTalk.
WebTalk Review - What Others Say?
One of the articles I’ve seen noted that WebTalk could replace Facebook. My curiosity forced me to read the post and determine the author’s reasons for saying so.

According to Ray Alexander, there’s a dramatic growth of 1,538% of the users at the 3rd quarter. From there, it could possibly outdo Mark Zuckerberg’s company.
However, there are downfalls. Rather than comparing it to Facebook, it’s closer to LinkedIn and Skype combined because of its professional vibe and its features itself that supports professional connections.

WebTalk official Facebook page shows this rating. Yet, it's not certain if it's from real users or affiliates.
Given, I have been using LinkedIn myself for years and notably, there are more features I could maximize there for free.
I don’t have to pay anything to see progress or send emails or messages to my prospective employer. I don’t have to pay something to get access for the sake of using the platform per se. That’s because LinkedIn by itself is free.
Another thing that concerns most people is the thin line between the sketchy activities WebTalk tries to implement with its users.

Some of the splurging positive reviews of WebTalk on their page
It doesn’t mean they are plainly doing a scam or luring people to victimize them. But it’s simply saying the users couldn’t get anything from the platform except dismay.
If I were to determine its fate, it could lead to the same tragic end as Garbowicz’s YourNight, his first-built social media MLM.
Is WebTalk A Scam?
According to sources, it mentioned about reinventing the online relationship by means of user experience that's unparalleled in the industry.
"Creating an entirely new class of product to manage contacts, communication, and content seamlessly," the report wrote.
If we were to compare its description with LinkedIn, the platform stated, "500 million+ members. Manage your professional identity. Build and engage with your professional network. Access knowledge, insights, and opportunities."

WebTalk shares similarities between some of the popular social media platforms like Facebook + LinkedIn when combined.
Hence, there's a close similarity between the two rather than comparing WebTalk with Facebook. Yet, the latter has similarities by means of connecting people by sharing photos and videos, as well as sending messages and get updates, which WebTalk also has as its features.
WebTalk does have some questionable features as a social media MLM. However, determining whether it’s a scam or not, it’s not. It’s a real platform with a real compensation plan for its members. On top of that, there are real products contained within it.
The problem arises when the founding executives and the company’s background are asked. This is because there’s no available information telling the persons behind the initiative.
Although there are surrounding allegations about Garbowicz with YourNight and building WebTalk as a replacement for it, there’s no clarity if it were true, apparently.
Nonetheless, it’s a legit software with a thin line before it’s considered a scam. It appears similar to a sketchy company. But, it’s not a scam.

Given all the shortcomings of the persons behind Webtalk, it’s not easy to make money and entrust that investment of time and effort to refer people to ensure commissions.
